Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
In Jan.02 card was cancelled due to poor customer service and refusal of the on duty supervisor to take my call. I had been trying to contact a supervisor and discuss my situation.

On 12/7/01 I was informed that I have an illness that I would eventually die from. I returned to work after only four days of given this devestating news. As time progressed I sank into a severe depression and eventually went on complete disability as of 2/15/02. I contacted Cross Country Bank and asked if because I had cancelled the card if I still had the insurance protection on my account. I still had a balance owed so I thought I should still have the coverage. I was informed by the Rep. that I did not have coverage.

Over the next two months I struggled to make two payments. I was not getting paid from my job, but only from State Disability, and not much to live on. So when I would be called from the company I would give them a payment by phone.

The end of April I noticed an Insurance charge on my statement. So with some research was able to track down the insurance company's telephone number. I contacted them and was told I had coverage the entire time. Since then its been a battle to get the insurance form for disability. The Collection Dept continues to call daily. I tell them they will be paid from the insurance company retroactive from 2/15, but that does not satisfy them. They demand money from me which I just don't have.

I was in the process of filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau when I came accross some upper management names. I contacted one of them, Mr. Dennis Fish, he stated upon his research that my account had been credited all late fees, and my name removed from the dialer so that I would not get anymore calls.

As of today 6/7/02, I continue to get harrassment calls from Cross Country Bank, and have sent them (faxed first) my doctor's information on my illness. Everything required, but I still get calls.

I don't know what to do at this point. I have placed calls to the Manager Mr. Fish, but he does not return my calls. This stress is making me more ill every day.

Cross Country Bank, dishonest, still harassing and now breaking the law.

This this the most recent experiences with Cross Country Bank... Last week due to the continued harassment, I utilized my consumer rights, and sent by registered mail, a written demand, that Cross Country stop all communication with me. Yesterday 6/17/02 I received yet again, a harassing letter. The letter is dated after they received my demand to stop communication. So now they are breaking the law. Due to my health, I am resolved in the fact that I have no choice but to put this company in the hands of an attorney. I am no longer going to allow them to get me upset and totally outraged. (I hope). The high stress and anger has caused, my life to be in danger once again. Until the Lord decides its time, life's bullshit, dishonest, Rip-Off companies like Cross Country Bank must be delt with. Its unfortunate that most of us don't find out about deceptive companies until its too late. Will keep you updated, as this continues.

Thanks for the rebutal. Naturally I'm taking everything said here, by everyone, and processing it, so that my next step in this matter is one in the right direction. I figured the bbb was paid the the company to be a member. If bbb listed bbb showed any company with an unsatisfactory status with many unresolved issues, wouldn't that maybe help, 1. Anyone who was considering doing business but checked with bbb first. (note-bbb is showing CCB as satisfactory. No unresolved complaints). 2. Any official who may care that so many consumers are being harrassed, and ripped off. (naturally its trying to get someone to notice (that has any authority). Any help, advise, rebutals is greatly appreciated. I must say as support for bbb, several yrs ago, regarding co. which financed my auto loan. I don't know which two of the following it was, but the company either had a computer problem, or they had a person stealing inside, but my account stated I was 3 months behind in payments, which I knew to be untrue. I made several request for them to correct. I finally filed complaint with bbb, about 2 weeks later received a call from finance co. saying they apologize for error and account had been corrected. Plus had several follow up communication by bbb, to see if matter resolved. It was a good experience, and they helped, that is why I urged filing complaint with bbb and as many places as possible when being harrassed and ripped off. Thanks again. David

This is to all of us consumers......I have been sitting here tonight reading all of these reports. Now I am at the point that I'm really pissed. I will not let this rip off company win. I am more determined than ever to get someone in Consumer Affairs, Better Business Bureau, whoever I can get to look into their business practices.

I urge all of you......start filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau. Their Web site is www.bbb.com.

Currently the BBB web site states that any complaints to date have been resolved. The company is a member of the Better Business Bureau and to remain a member must comply with bbb standards or else loose membership and any inquires about the company will indicate that complaints have not been satisfied.
Hopefully the vast majority of the U.S. population checks bbb complaints before accepting their credit card. Anyway if we all file complaints then someone will have to see that something is wrong, and will investigate.

On Monday I will be contacting my local City Representative, and also consumer Affairs about Cross Country.

PLEASE...we all need to work together and make our demands known and met.

Sincerely,

David
