Cross Country Bank has Total idiots in charge In August I moved into my new home. I called my credit card accounts and had my mailing address changed.

Due to a high crime district I used a Po box in Tunnel Hill, Now In OCtober I noticed that my card had expired with Cross Country bank and I called them to find out the reason why. He informed me that it had been sent to Ringgold Georgia. (something about my zipcode and thier software) Now having a credit card sent to someone I didn't know distressed me greatly.

I asked him how I could close the account immediately. He said a direct draft for complete payment would work. I complied and the draft (ck no 9000 for $243.67) was made out to my bank routing number and all the other neccessary things. I again had gave my current and correct address. He then instructed me to cut my cards up. NOW. Feburary 10th 2002, After being in bed with a fever of 104 to 102 for 4 days I get annoyed at the numerous hang up phone calls. Finally I hold on the phone for the automated call to curse out the employee. It was Cross country bank wanting to know why I had not made a payment in 60 days. Her name was Lena. I informed her that I had closed the account and was paid off in full. She replied that there was a seven dollar charge for the check. (NOW I was aware it had been added into the total payoff) and interest had been accrued to 110 dollars. Now I was getting agitated even more. She did say she was going to make a notation on my account to have the charges removed.

I then inquired about marks on my credit report, She had no answer to my questions so I asked to speak to her supervisor. (Meggan) She apologized after I had updated my address, my phone and reviewed all the information again. she had no information about my credit report either. I then talked to her supervisor (Lumilla) she speaks such a broken english language I could hardly understand her.

After getting FOUR more automated phone calls and one RUDE collection idiot I called 1-877-273-7690 asked to speak to Meggan or Lumilla again. I ended up with a Homosexual sounding person named Shawn. He suggested I pay my bill. I asked again

to speak to his supervisor, he told me He could handle any problem I might have since he was a administrator. (another idiot) After he took my phone number,my address, I explained everything to him. He got on me about being rude.

I have had no closure on this. I have paid off and supposedly closed the account only to have it pop back up and get threats on the phone. These people are total idiots. I have filed complaint # 566139 with the local chapter of the better business bureau on 2/10/02. I posted a web page with this information also. Also this report is filed for future refrence.

I have no further recourse except to seek legal advice for the harrassment.
