CRST is a company that will sell you the moon and stars and had you sand. I know it is a training company and started me on my career in OTR driving. I am a trainer I went this rout to make extra money and impart what little knowledge I have on future drivers. CRST has a handbook they issue every driver.. if you get on throw it away the rules in the book do not apply. If you want layover pay, breakdown pay the rules apply to benefit the company and expect them to change and not to get paid. When you submit a trip sheet be ready to fight for your pay the will leave off tolls, and items you had to purchase such as chains. It took two months to get those paid to me and I had to resubmit my paperwork three times. I am still fighting to get paid for three trips over 1000 miles. You will sit if youre a lead waiting to get routed to get a student no wheels turning no pay. You split your miles and the first week with a new student you run solo miles so you go negative in your funds. Once you dig out by week four you go right back in the hole.

CRST has asked me to drive my truck past my log hours and to push It they preach dont break the law the will do this on the phone ask them to put it on the quall com and they will back down. Or they want you to drive a truck 100 miles with a blown trailer tire while your hauling haz mat to save 10.00 on a tire. Tolls oh my god they will advance you toll money per trip that requires a toll the will charge you $4.00 for each transaction though not to mention if you have to cash the check or pay an ATM fee of $3.00. it adds up. Then they dont get the reimbursement on your pay and you have to fight to get it back. Home time whats that? They will ask you to stay out past the 28 days or not approve your home time forcing you out. I have been home 3 times in 9 months at 4 days each. This company does not care about your family or the drivers the talk a great game and never back it up. I have been told be my dispatcher the truck is our concern not your family is this what we want? If you can balance work and home and deliver on the promices you make and having a safe work environment you can do well anywhere. CRST will abuse, use and ask you to break the law and not pay you to do any of it.

I have been with crst for 18 months ,love my job.great dispatcher, great miles, great pay(.39 cpm),home every week end. You can't expect to start at the top, just like I  did started at the bottom and work your way up. I started with another company when I first started driving, was out 10 weeks before I got hometime, then it was for only 3 days, dispatcher was'nt any help to me,would call him if I was unsure about somethings all he would say is "figure it out yourself" and hang up. All companies are going to be the same. You just have to at the  bottom and work your way up.

Yes CRST is starting E-log as required by DOT for their poor safety rating, and CRST does not do complete reimbursements for tolls, scales, and Lumpers. Drivers are still asked to run their trucks in an unsafe manor and the inexperienced
drivers do this because they need a Job. CRST has some good points its a great place to start to get training or if you are a driver with a poor safety rating and cannot get hired anywhere else this company will hire you without question.. good luck and stay between the lines.

Hi..recently this week I spoke with Mr.Edgar in Recruiting at CRST Trucking in Cedar Rapid,Iowa about employment for husband and wife team/Sept 2011. We were told .43 per driver PER DRIVER.. we verified this statement 4x..and paid TWICE weekly with cutoff on Saturday nite midnite and Tuesday nite midnite. We were concerned and called again to verify that a team would be paying 16 Taxes Monthly due to this way of CRST payments and we were told.."That's right...and you'll make more money also." After reading reports on The Truckers Report and now here on Rip Off Report... I am GREATLY CONCERNED HERE and not interested in employment with CRST now.I contacted CRST and they stated we get bad reviews and you can't please all the drivers all the time. But now,my next question is WHO IS GOIN G TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THESE REPORTS AGAINST CRST..? It is obvious and reported in details quite nicely by recent employees and drivers EXACTLY what is happening in this company .They continue to make money and operate in this schemming and evil, corrupt business manner at the expense of newly hired drivers. We need lawyers on these situations and it appears to this reader as I search for my own answers..45 Detailed Complaints against CRST in Cedar Rapids,Iowa just recently SHOULD BE GETTING MORE LEGAL ATTENTION BY EXPERTS in OUR BUSINESS SECTOR,huh..? Remember drivers to also post on the forum message board The Truckers Report.com.. .so all truck drivers and family can be properly informed.

CRST is in the process of upgrading their logs to E Logs. You can no longer be pushed to run past your legal time.

As for the pay issues, you should really understand before you start how much you will be paid. For ANYONE looking to start at CRST, CRST will only pay you for half of the miles the truck goes!!!! That goes for companylead drivers and company teams!! If the company tells you that your rate is .49 cpm as a lead driver, it is .49cpm for half of the miles! Let me say this again, Lead Drivers do NOT get paid for all of the miles the truck goes.

CRST has the miles, you should be able to run enough to make it worth while, but trainers must want to train, not to get rich, but to make a difference in new drivers lives.

Keep on Trucking.
