This is a warning to anyone considering purchasing the CSA travel insurance for any flight or travel arrangements.  The insurance did not cover me in a family emergency that did not fit the company's definition of a "sickness" in my family, despite the fact that the person I was going to visit had a relapse of a serious condition.  Please read the long list of exclusions and the very small list of items they will cover.  It does not make any sense to purchase this and had I known that there would be no way of being insured for cancellation, I would never have considered buying the airfare in the first place.  I assumed travel insurace means it insures you when you need to cancel.  I had no idea I would lose this large sum of money if I had to cancel.  CSA travel insurance truly is a "rip-off."  I hope there is a class-action suit against them because they do not tell you up-front how unlikely it is that they will cover your trip.  They give you 10 days to review the policy and then you a re locked in.

We take customer service and the claims review process very seriously and cannot stress enough to our customers that it is important to review the coverage details of our plans via the sample Description of Coverage/Insurance Policy that’s provided at the time of purchase, and contact us at (800) 348-9505 or via email at [email protected] with any additional questions you may have. We have dedicated customer service representatives who can clarify the plan terms and conditions and guide you towards the best coverages. As you mention, we also offer a free look back period with all of our plans to allow customers to cancel their policies within a designated period as long as they haven't already left on their trip or filed a claim. Unfortunately we were unable to locate the details of your plan or claim based upon the information provided with you review. Our Trip Cancellation coverage includes a number of different covered events and is typically able to provide coverage if you are forced to cancel your trip due to an unforeseen sickness of yourself, a family member or a traveling companion. While some plans are unable to provide coverage for losses resulting from pre-existing medical conditions, others are able to provide coverage for such losses if certain requirements are met.
