I attended CTU Online for less than a month. I was told that if I could get Pell grants it would cover everything. I got my Sars back and they recieved it. They said I would owe only $249.15 . So I said okay. I was very excited that that was all I would owe.

So I jumped at the opporitunity. I signed an agreement saying that I would pay the 249.15 Within that semester. It was going to be like 20 bucks a month.

When I started I thought it was a little easy , but it wasn't until I got the dlu and did not log on and did not turn in any papers until I saw that it was fruad.

Without turning anything in I still recieved a B+ . So I called that proffesor. He said it was a mistake He would get on it. Nothing changed throughout that week. So I withdrew.

Now almost a year later I am getting calls from a collection agency for CTU. They say I owe $10,100.00 in loans. If I can't pay that in full within 6 months I am going to have a lawsuit brought against me.

CTU Online is the biggest scam I have ever seen. I would advise anyone interested in CTU to not pursue that route. It will leave you with more debt than when you began with no more education.

My wife attends CTU Online in dual degree program

#2Consumer Suggestion

Wed, May 23, 2007

I read these posts and they make no sense. I spent over 2 years researching online schools before my wife started with anothger colelge a fdew eyars ago and received degree from there. Then she went on inot dual degree program at CTU where she ahs worked herself hard and will be done enxt eyar this time having 3 degrees total over these years of hardship we invested for her to elevate herself for better opportunities to get out of this region of western NC. Outside of her not liking CTU's online interactive program with professors as much as the previous school, we have had no problmes to note. All our loans are deferred fpor 6 months after she fianlly finishes college and thenw e will have to start to repay those. But as with any business, you signed to a contractual agreement which, if breeched, can cost you in penalty or costs disclosed up front in all the contract documents. Not understanding all your problems here I may be wrong, but if this or anys chool is doign something wroing, you do have recourse as well as the federal government wouldnot be happy if theyw ere giving cash loan funds toa school for a situation that was not real either. But CTU and other online schools of "egional accreditation"are recognized as such and by the CHEA and NEA out of Washignton, DC to have such accreditation; which means they are allowed to offer federal finaial aid loan programs to qualifying applicants wheras schools that hold "national accreditation" do not have this allowance and usually require you to pay all costs as you go along out of your pocket such as correspondence schools or similar community schools and tech schools.
