Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I hate this school!  It takes advantage of the Student Loan programs and the unsuspecting adult learner that is usually in a bad place emotionally and/or finacially to lure them into the Web of deceipt!  This started in 2014 for me.  A sales rep called me during the day in summer of 2014.  My stupidity was in giving him the time of day!

First off, they want to get to know more about you.  Then when they find out you're unemployed and in financial distress, they emphasize that you can get stipends from student loans.  They also don't give you time to think it over...probably because they know I'd go online and find them in the RipOff Report!

I kept enrolled from July 2014 - January 2015.  I needed desperately in early January to take a break of maybe 3 - 5 weeks to get myself together.  I had just filed bankruptcy and gone to court which was a very humbling experience for someone like me.  My "Student Advisor" told me that I would have to start over with the class, and of course, that meant paying again, and she could not enroll me for the same class that would have started about 3 weeks after I called.  So, I told her to unenroll me.  Big mistake!! Or maybe not.  It gets even better.

So, by the end of January, things seemed to have been going better for me.  Wham!  Here comes another sales "Advisor" calling me to see if I wanted to re-enroll!  Of course, I did.  I had already devoulged that I suffer from Anxiety and Depression and have been on meds.  Heck, my doctor filled out paperwork and I even applied through CTU for a learning disability acceptance program!  Now, I don't really think someone who is unemployed, gone thru bankruptcy, and on heavy duty meds should be a great candidate for getting a Master's!

So, I ended up going back, but not till April of 2015 (Scheduling conflicts by them), and I just owed them more $$$.  Every class was the same as the prior classes...same presentations, same assignments, and cookie-cutter professors that gave me A's and B's when I knew I'd have gotten at best, C's, in my undergrad program.  I had been through hell and I kept those papers and re-read them.  The only reason they gave me good grades was due to the fact that if I couldn't keep up a B average, then I wouldn't qualify for Student Loans.

I, too, would love to file a Class Action Lawsuit against them!  They hound you for money and after you withdraw...it gets worse.  Much worse.  I've made arrangements to pay them $54.18 bi-weekly for a total of $2,866 more that I owe.  Finally...after having reported them to the BBB, I got someone who agreed to make a descent payment arrangement with me.

If anyone feels like me, the Navient people told me to file a complaint with the Attorney Generals office for my state, and to also file a complaint with this website: [email protected].  Trust me...do it!  I've even given them money from my unemployment checks!  Trust me...do not go to this Donald Trump Clone school.

The Truth about CTU Online

First off I want to say that CTU in no way forces you to enroll in school, to suggest such a thing is ridiculous to the extreme. You are the one that applies to the school, you are the one that fills out your FAFSA, you are the one that files all your documents and has your transcripts sent over. You do all of this, they are not holding a gun to your head.

Second, if the only reason you decided to go back to school was for the "stipend" how committed were you in the first place? Not very. This is not the kind of decision you make on a whim, higher education is a very serious committment and a pretty expensive one at any school you go to. It sounds to me like you made a brash decision because you wanted a stipend check, thought because school was paid for you'd get a free ride and you found out it doesn't work that way.

I want to set the record straight, because I am a student at CTU Online and I love it. My professors have been nothing but helpful, you also have a success coach to help you out along the way. During the admissions process you should expect a lot of phone calls from the school, because they want to ensure that you know how to navigate the virtual campus and have all of the information to make sure you are ready for when classes start. My Admissions advisor's name was Joe Sceery and he was awesome.

Also, CTU doesn't just randomly call you out of the blue like was suggested in this nonsensical report. You literally have to fill out the information and add your phone number in order to be called. And of course they want you to enroll, they are a for profit institution but that doesn't mean they aren't a great school. It is their job to sell their brand, if you will, and if you are on the website putting in your information you would be quite stupid to expect anything different.

CTU tells everyone from the start that if you do not submit work for 14 consecutive days you will be withdrawn from school, this is also in the student handbook, listed in orientation, and gone over in detail in your first class. This shouldn't come as a surprise to you, as they send you emails and call you to find out what is going on. When you think in terms of each class only lasts 5.5 weeks, 14 consecutive days is half the class.

It sounds to me like you made a decision you were not truly ready for, because you stated yourself you wanted the stipend check because you were going through a financial crisis. You weren't in this for education. You paid the consequences. In order to be successful in life you need to start accepting responsibility instead of blaming others.

Have a nice day
