Complaint Review: Custom Built Chimneys - Scranton Pennsylvania

if you're the owner, you should return calls so people don't have to file these reports!  I've been calling for weeks now and haven't had a returned call!  

Why waste my time I've done right by all of my customers...if there's ever a problem I've taken care of it...and to be quite honest with you sir this website is a joke...if this was even remotely a legitimate website they would contact the business before they allow people to post  whatever they want...this is the first time I've posted on this website...so obviously I'm not posting anything to try to make myself or my company look any better...f.y.i it's websites like these that are the real crooks they ask for $2, 000 to go to arbitration to possibly be able to remove this nonsense...thank you for reading....sincerely Erik (owner of custom built chimneys)

Do they still have employees like Kevin Steeneck asking for cash or checks to be made out to them?

Why isn't the original owner the one posting a rebuttal?

why is the "good work done" posted by "Unanimous" which I can only assume is an attempt to use the word "anonymous"

Look closely at the two rebuttals - is the original person happy or did the comapny post two rebuttals to try to make themselves look good?

They were kicked out of Bethel township and asked to never come back.

I was searching around for a licensed and insured chimney company, for a major repair that i needed on a house i just purchased. I came across a couple of fly by nite company's that kept on giving me the run around about extra work that needed to be done.

The third company i had come to my house for an estimate was Custom Built Chimneys, and the service technician was very knowledegable and courteous. They actually beat the previous two estimates that i did get by a big difference, and i was extremely pleased with the work that was done. I recommend this company to anyone who is looking for great deals and the rite job done!

Erik, the business owner, has fully refunded the client's money and terminated the employee who took advantage of her.  The family is glad to see this was settled so quickly.

To Whom it may concern,

In regards to the scam posted five days ago, i would like to explain that in fact Mr. Healy was told to have the payment check written out to him but was not the salesman on the job, just a mason at trade fixing loose bricks and bad mortar joints that could falter the structure of a chimney. We see it with any sort of company, whether its painting, carpentry or plumbing. Etc. People are constantly overcharged at times. Even when work is performed, and everyones a. Expert in what is needed to be put in. Thus refering to the job in this report, the worked performed is as follows.... Relaying of three rows of brick from the top course, All off a ladder. For the roof was to steep to foot, stucco from roof up on all four sides, top cement crown, custom stainless animal/ rain guard, tar flashing, watersealant, obstruction removal and cleaning. Also let me inform you that performing a simple cleaning can be a big cluster-f&;k. Pardon my french, forget a tileknock. Guting out of existing flues to install a full sleeve in place of existing lining. Ive see. Men crush hands and lose limbs. How many of us are climbing 40 plus ft to do work? Ask yourself that. Performing such tasks off a ladder should allow estimates n proposals to be written w a price that takes risks.

To add to the story the bomenowner was under impresion shed have a stainless insert put in. upon trying the work. The existing balloon cemented liner was installed improperly. Causing the me. To see a puffbak in her basement. you would have to rip entire chimney structure down a d rebuild to correct the problem, and after the guys left ahe soon had another return of oil soot becuase in fact the existing liner was to narrow.To avoid such reports n mishaps. Always have a second opinion n always check w a sibling or relative before starting work especially w seniors that are female. Also take before and after photos. Mr. Healy has extended his masonry skills not only in P.A. But in Mass. And new york . He has a clean slate for fifteen years . My concern is if this young fella was aprehended, would he get his say in court. Prosecutors have laid out time to individuals in this county. For not performing ANY work n geting paid. Thats a scam. The homeowner was pAid back in full. Probably my guess becuse Custom Built is a farely new company and wants to do the rite thing. Most other companys would of fought such a case and who knows the outcome.--------
