We took a late honeymoon and We went on a cruise with my new sister in law and her boyfriend, which happens to be my husbands best friend and we went to the bahamas and did an snorkeling excursion..I bought a waterproof 35mm camera and took about 27-30 pictures of it. We returned Monday the 30th of august. I dropped the camera off at CVS at 4pm. I told the lady that the camera has not been rewinded and that she needed too. She went to do it, and said OH it has already been done, and i told her that it has not. She OPENED up my camera to reveal that the camera had not been rewinded and stated that the film was already destroyed because of her opening it and revealing it to sunlight. She went on and stated that I would be lucky to get 1 picture. I went to the back to get a couple of things and came back to the front to see that she had pulled out the whole film out of my camera and had it all expelled to sunlight. I know CVS has a machine that if a few gets ruined that they have a black box to atleast save the rest. She did not bother to do that progress. This was not a mistake, It was her stupidity that ruined all my pictures. CVS said they could replace the film and a $50 gift card. I could understand if the machine messed them up. Or if I had done something, but because of being a stupid photo lab tech, she ruined them. When it could of been prevented. Between the 4 of us, the excursion costn $400.00 and the cruise itself was $1500.00. I am not going to settle for a stupid gift card when there employee is stupid.

You might want to think this over...

I feel for you 100%, but be careful what you say about that Photo Lab Clerk. You are correct in everything you are saying about a blackbox that can save the roll of shots. It was the clerks fault, but the more derogatory you get, the less CVS is going to deal with you. You could get it to a point that they will not deal with you at all and you'll get nothing. My wife is in management for a retailer similar to CVS with a photo lab and has run into this problem before. To pursue this further, you might want to be a little more pleasant but firm. Demand a name and number of Director of Photo Labs. Explain everything but be accurate and don't dramatize. I assure you the results will work in your favor. I'm sorry and best of luck to you.
