As of the Summer of 2001, cyberrebate.com filed for bankruptcy. Once they filed for bankruptcy, they stated on their website that returns would not be processed and if you sent in packages, they would not return them. Like many other companies who go out of business, consumers are the last to get what they are deserved. The New York bankruptcy drafted documents to satisfy creditors and vendors first and then, if there is any money left over, then pay the consumer rebates. Most, if not all credit card companies' rules protecting consumers do not apply to rebates not received, just merchandise not received. This was one of those "too good to be true" dot coms that screwed many consumers.
