Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I am the proud owner of 4 different, large retail franchises across the United States. During the process of opening 2 of them, I faced the miserable experience of dealing with a company based in Acworth Georgia named Cynergy Telecom. I primarily dealt with Mike Emanuelo & Byron Braun, who I would consider equally as the most incompetent and unethical sales people I've ever dealt with. I would rather deal with a used car salesman than another telecom sales rep if these 2 dirt bags are representatives of the rest of the industry.

The 1st message franchise I opened, the franchisor actually FORCED ME TO WORK WITH CYNERGY! After just 1 conversation with Mike Emanuelo (who claimed to be the founder) I got the feeling Cynergy was going to be a problem. When I told Mike I hadn't decided if I would do business with Cynergy, he informed me that it really didn't matter if I had concerns about working with him or his company, because Cynergy was a "required" vendor by the franchisor. It makes me sick to think about how much money Cynergy cost me & how pompous Mike Emanuelo acted throughout the entire process, especially when I was later told that Mike had been sleeping with his "customer support" manager at the time and his attention was needed elsewhere after his wife discovered his disgusting conduct.

The only good experience I had with the technology vendors for my 1st franchise, was working with Tie National. Amazing experience! They were actually able to mitigate some of the damage caused by Mike and Cynergy, but no one could recover my main #'s that Cynergy lost or prevent the 3 week opening delay Cynergy caused. Opening my second franchise seemed to be going much better, until I was pointed to Cynergy again! This time I was not required to work with them however, and I didn't have to deal with Mike Emanuelo at any point throughout the process. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt since I was working with Byron Braun this time & he seemed courteous initially.

BAD DECISION. In Byron's defense, it pretty clear he wasn't meant to be in a sales role and probably was forced to cover for Mike while he resolved his personal issues. Not only did I get the feeling Byron had just finished reading his first sales book, I also didn't get the impression he completely understood what he was doing. I'd get 3-5 words in during a 30 min conversation with him, and remember thinking he never asked me a single question during his rambling. He just kept throwing out different prices over and over and over until I was so confused with options I had to give up and just sign the cheapest internet service contract. That never got ordered, opening was delayed... All over again.

The only explanation I ever received from Byron was there was nothing he could do, that It was Alicia Landrum's fault (see previously mentioned "customer support" manager above) and I should speak with her if I had questions. Before you buy any franchise license, make sure you get confirmation that the franchisor does not work with Cynergy in any way. I recently declined to by a license from the franchisor when I was told they had worked with Cynergy in the past. It's not worth the risk for any serious franchise professional.
