The exact same thing happened to me. Charlie lied, said they had the part. The wrong part ships to me from New Hampshire. I call and tell Charlie that the wrong part was sent. First Charlie insists that I was sent the right part, and then I email photos to him showing that clearly it's wrong.
My car is a Saturn L300, and the part sent was for a Saturn "S" series. Anyway, Charlie promises that the right part will ship immediately. Two weeks go by with my car taken apart and taking up space in my mechanic's garage, and still no part. In the meantime, I'm inconvenienced having to borrow cars from friends and family, and even having to rent one for a few days.
Charlie insists that my part is on its way, and keeps promising to get me a tracking number and he never does. D & J won't answer the phone when I call, and all the voicemails are full so you can't leave a message.
Finally, after 3 weeks, Charlie admits that the right part was never shipped at all. So, I shipped the wrong part back to NH - it cost me $36 plus change. Charlie promises that I will be reimbursed. Today, I checked my bank account and saw that I was reimbursed only $94.20 for a part that cost $149.00 (and of course D & J didn't pay $149 for this part). A woman who claims to be the owner answers the phone. I ask for Charlie and she wants to know why I'm calling. (btw, every other time she answered the phone when I called, she told me "Charlie handles that and he's not here).
Anyway, this time she decides to handle it herself and tells me that I had to pay for shipping and a restocking fee. She insisted that I was sent the right part and refused it. I attempted to explain what happened and she started yelling at me. In response I said, "Okay, now I'm pissed" and she went OFF - I could not get a word in. I could hear Charlie explaining in the background. After she listened to him, she offered to give me $20 more, and insisted on the restocking fee because she said "that's out policy"
Her policy is to be a thief. The business in NH that shipped me the part reimbursed D & J Auto in FULL, including shipping! D & J Auto had NOTHING to restock. The gave me the runaround for about a month now, and then had the nerve to yell at me on top of it for wanting my money back for an item I never received. So, now I'm out $71, and learned a valuable lesson.
There has got to be a way to warn people that D & J Auto is a scam. I'm sending a report to the State Attorney General, along with all my documentation. I encourage others to do the same, and shut down these thieves before they can steal from anyone else.
