All buyers beware - Both Dodge and Chrysler have had a history of selling defective cars to consumers. If you are considering buying one of these cars, do not expect them to make good on their so-called " Lifetime Power Train (Limited) Waranty". They have had in the past a history of blaming consumers for the defects in their vehicles.

Take their real Turkey - The Dodge Intrepid.

This car has had a history of catastrophic engine failure at 30,000, 70,000 and 110, 000 miles. The engine they put in these cars is defective - the 2.7 dohc. The engine fails due to sludge that builds up in the engine due to channels that are too narrow for the oil to pass through and circulate throughout the engine.

Every mechanic I have talked to knows this engine is defective. Engines do not fail at 110,000 , 70,000 and especially not at 30,000 miles. When most engines fail - they can be repaired . When this one fialed, the damage that resulted was irrepairable.

Instead of doing what a good, responsible, ethical company would do - Admit they made a mistake and offer the consumer they cost of replacing the engine and making them whole - they have consistently taken the low road and blamed the consumer.

The only time Deimler Chrysler -Dodge have paid consumers is when they have had safety defects and have been forced to pay OR they have been sued successfully.

If you are considering buying a new car from "The New Dodge" do not expect to be paid for any defects without loss of life of fighting tooth and nail to get it.

Also I would urge all of you to complain to as many consumer advocacy groups as possible.

Companies like this should NOT be allowed to do business here in America.
