Data-Matique, Award Claim Final Notification letter, with check inclosed. Also received 3 phone calls from 3 different people - giving same contact phone number and telling me I was a lottery winner. Contacted about lottery win by phone about 1 month ago, given # to call, then received letter in mail with same number. Not sure, didn't enter International Shopping Sweepstakes. Toronto, Ontario
About 1 month ago, I received 3 phone calls from 3 different people telling me I had won a lottery. After the 2nd call I got curious and a reverse search on the phone number given to call. The (reputable) service notified me that the phone number was not in the continental US, even though the first call came (supposedly) from Los Vegas.
When the third person called, Male, "Jamaican" accent, I informed him that I had been called twice already, and had searched the phone # - He abruptly hung up.
Today I received a letter, plain envelope, no return address on envelope, stating "Award Claim Final Notification", winner of the International Shopping Sweepstakes Lottery held May 22 2009, in the 2nd category. Gives Serial numbers and winning numbers.
I am entitled to the sum of 215,00.00 us dollars. Enclosed with the letter is a check for 4,850.00 US dollars to enable me to pay the winning taxes. The tax is USD 2,850.00 to be paid via Western Union Wiring Facility to assigned tax agent.
The Phone # given in the letter is the same number I did the search on, even down to the extension number. My claims agent is Mr. Ken Hanson, and the letter is signed by Makail Swaltz (promotion Manager).
It would have been nice if it were real, I did a search on the Data-Matique name and came up with a lot of manufacturing companies, located in the south west US; and of course Ripoffreport.com.
The check was from, Print Finishing Systems Inc, 1646 NW 2nd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73106, and supposedly drawn on NBC Oklahoma, Oklahoma City, 73156. Haven't ran checks on these entities, but I may just out of curiosity.
