Linda, I'm not familiar with the name of the company. But, it sounds like the old invention development con. You call or write asking for help with your invention. They have this whole line of bullshit in place, just waiting for a sucker to come along. From the things you mentioned about patents, it sounds like the con. A real company would have helped you develop a prototype first. Be glad you only spent a week's salary. I've heard of people who have mortgaged their house for this nonsense. Usually they will string you along for years. They tell you that they are always right on the edge of a major breakthrough. When you finally run out of money, or quit, they say the failure is all yours. They were willing to work, you just ran out of financing. The way to get out of the contract is by not sending any more money. Of course, you don't tell them that. You string them along. The next time they call, tell them you are completely committed. As soon as you get more money, you will be able to send thousands. Never call them. That costs money. Instead, let them call you. Tell them you are working on re-financing your home. Or, selling the car for money for the invention. But, somehow, it always falls through. Then, come up with a new scheme to raise money. If you do it right, you can get them to waste the whole $585 you sent them on long distance calls between Pittsburg and Oklahoma. Usually, they'll go on for a few months or so. Once they see that you can't get any more money, they'll stop calling for good. End of problem!
