Complaint Review: Dawn Sandford Of Heaven Sent Shih-Tzus - Clever Missouri

I did win my case. I won a X amount of dollars. Dawn did not even show up. She may not have had the money or she may not have had the means because she was or still is, I am not sure, under investigation with her state social services. She is now working with Karen Christensen and several others trying to promote a new club. Please steer clear of her and anything, or anyone she associated herself with, for fear that they share they same ethics. Dawn still owes people money and papers.

Still no registration, still no money back for me. I have been informed that the puppies from all litters that have not been registered will not be registered until I have retracted my statement, regarding these people not receiving their AKC registration papers. I retract my statement. Please disregard all previous statements, in hopes that all of these people will get their papers.

This lady indicates that I purchased a puppy from Angela and didn't know that her stud wasn't the sire. As I stated in my response to the rip off report on Angela, I did know that her dog didn't sire this puppy. She was very up front and informative that she got this puppy from another breeder who had used her dog for stud on a different litter. I was very happy with my dealings with Angela.

Lisa Muraski and Jane Rich are in no way involved with this problem Dawn has created for herself. Lisa only owns the stud dog. I apologize that their names were posted as references, as they are not. I have spoken to neither of them as I am sure they want no part of this.

Here is a brief overview of the events with Madison "Mattie": I meet Lisa at a dog show in Quincy and fell in love with her dog called Dream. We talked during the show and I told her about how I was thinking about getting another dog, and had decided on a shih tzu. I came to the show to see them to be sure that was what I wanted, and after seeing her Dream, I knew that was exactly what I wanted. I had been looking around and told her that I preferred a red and white puppy...but they were really hard to come by. She advised me that she had a friend who "might" have a red and white girl, and she gave me her name. This person was Dawn Sanford from Clever, Missouri I contacted Dawn and we talked for quite a while. Her puppy was still to young to leave the litter and she was not sure she was going to sell her. I recently lost a dog quite tragically to Auto-Immune Disease and told her that I wasn't sure I was ready either. Nothing happened at that time. A few weeks later she contacted me and advised me that she decided to sell her red and white girl because she was too small to breed or show, and that she would sell her to me - with papers. The price was $1200. She was traveling to Moberly, Missouri for a dog show the first weekend in June, and we agreed that she would let me keep the puppy for the weekend.When she dropped off the puppy at my office I gave her a $400 Deposit check. Well, this puppy was just wonderful. She was very, very little. However, she took to our family immediately! She blended in so well that by Sunday, when it was time for her to depart, I told Dawn that, even though she was only 6 weeks old I wanted to keep her because she was already so well adjusted. There was no need for her to go back to her kennel as she was sleeping and eating well. I gave Dawn the balance check of $800.00 and Dawn promised that she would send her papers in a few days. Several weeks passed and I called her, looking for the papers. She said she was working on them. I called again, I think it was about 2 weeks later, and she said there was a mix up with the papers, they arrived, but were wrong, and so she needed to get them corrected - and she would contact AKC in the next week. Week after week I got excuses! I finally gave up calling because I knew she would just give me the run around. In one of the conversations with Dawn I learned that the "co-owner" of Melody, the b***h, was Jane Rich of Rich Kennels - and that she needed to sign off. I contacted Jane Rich and she advised that Dawn still has not paid money which was long past due and that she refused to sign off on registering the litter. Jane did say, however, that she would sign off on my puppy, send the papers to Lisa (she had the stud) to sign, and we could complete the paperwork that way. At about that time my other dog became very ill. She had lots of problems and was now a diabetic. With the grace of God, and her strong will power, we got her back to a controlled "good health" over the next several weeks. At the time, I had to drop the issue with the papers for Madison, for the time being, just due to time restraints. I plan to take action now. I will be filing a Small Claims Court claim this week for fraud. I will also contact the Sheriff and the State of Missouri Prosecuting Attorney. I've had alot of problems with her--just getting my puppy...He was suppose to be here by the 4th of July(born April 25) and I didn't receive him until Oct.6th!! He was 5 1/2 months old! I called the sherriff on her and he went out to her house on Sept.8th to tell her to send puppy or return my money!..but it was only until Lisa Muraski(Dawn used her stud ..plus, does her web-site) shut her site down until she shipped my pup!.And why would Lisa let her use her CH.male if it wasn't even registered?? At least now.. thats what I'm told..why I haven't recieved his AKC papers yet...On Nov. 8th she said the lady has to sign off the Mother yet( she use to work at her place and do her kennel with this other breeder) maybe she still owes her money?!!and that by mid-December I should get the papers..LOL..another stall!!??!!!! I saved all my e-mails from her...she has alot of excuses and troubles!!A few months ago I started a report on her with the BBB...that was gonna be for stealing,fraud...whatever... cos I didn't think I was gonna get the pup at all!! Angela Maynard has done nothing but lied to me and other breeders. Angela is a new breeder and she knows nothing of this breed I have done nothing but tried to help this girl and this is the thanks that I get from her. All of this mud slinging that she has started is all because I did not want to sell her a puppy due to the fact that she still has not sent me the contract back signed that I emailed to her many months ago and also she has contually lied to me about one thing or another. I do own my dogs my name is on the papers I have a couple of show dogs that I co-own but they are being signed over and that is none of her buisness and she has no buisness trying to get into my affairs. I had several emails and phone conversations with Angela but she is so irrational and out of her mind that she believes that she is in the right. Angela had problems with another breeder and I some how got pulled into it and I got sick of all the catty games that she was playing and I no longer wanted to have anything to do with her or have any association with her breeding program. She then called and told me that I could keep her money and the puppy and that she would take the picture of the puppy off the website and that would be that. Or so I thought. Then not 2 hours later I got mass emails and phone calls from fellow breeders wanting to know what in the heck was going on since Angela decided to MASS E-MAIL everyone in the shih tzu world. Then she went and blamed it on the other breeder on the rip off report under a false name. I then had to talk with everyone and try and let them all know what was going on since she was telling everyone that she paid for her puppy and that I was refusing to send it to her. The puppy in question is only 4 weeks old now and will not be ready for another 4 weeks so how can I send it now anyway. She has not paid for the puppy only a deposit which was a non-refundable deposit and she never signed and returned the contract that she was supposed to sign and send back within 2 weeks or forfeit her deposit and the puppy, and that was sent to her in September so that makes this sale NULL and VOID anyway. She was supposed to get a puppy from a previous litter that did not make size and since my deposits are non refundable she was waiting for the next litter. I then had this litter come up and a better puppy and I made her a new contract for this puppy since in the time inbetween the 2 puppies we had some problems with lies. I then made up a new contract that I have yet to recieve back from her signed. Which is the for mentioned contract talked about above. Angela has never even had her own litter of puppies. She does not even have her own dogs in her own name, as of this date, so she has no room to cast stones. I checked with AKC and there is no dogs with those names listed with her name on the papers. But yet she has adds on the net right now with a picture of a puppy that she never owned since she never paid for her and she never registered that dog in her name. Angela has bought and sold 5 different dogs in the past 8-12 months for the only reason of making a profit. She will state otherwise but the reasons she gives are not truths they are lies for they change daily. I also know the names of all 5 dogs and there was nothing wrong with them as pet breeding dogs, since that is all she is breeding for anyway. Angela has no buisness breeding, for she has no idea what she is doing or what to look for in a good dog. Angela uses pictures of puppies that she never bred or owned to sell puppies that she never bred or owned the puppies that she has on her site as of 11-19-04 are puppies that were out of her stud dog but they are not hers they belong to someone else. The pictures she uses on her add is a puppy she got on payments that she never even started paying on and she sold her for more than what she was supposed to pay for her and kept the profit for herself before she paid for the puppy. To my knowledge the puppy is still not paid for. The new owner of this dog is under the impression that this dog is sired by Angela's stud but she is wrong the sire of the puppy is not related to any of Angela's dogs. This dog was never owned or registered in Angela's name. If this is not enough to make someone rethink sending someone a puppy well I don't know what will. I would not buy from her or sell to her. Angela is trying to bully me into getting her way and I am not going to let her win. Angela refuses to give me her Lawyer information so that I may contact him/her so that they can have all of the information and not just what she has made up. I am not perfect by any means but I have been breeding dogs for many years and I have never had a problem till Angela Maynard! For a breeder starting a breeding program why does she only have 2 dogs? And why does she put up pictures of dogs that do not belong to her yet? They are not even in her home and she puts them in her females page like they are hers already. When she does not have the money to pay for them. Now tell me that isn't strange? I want the best for my puppies and I did not think this was the best for her since she was going on a show contract and Angela was not going to be able to show her and she is in a dog restrictive area and she is only allowed a limited number of dogs just ask her mom and dad whom she lives with. I am so tired of all this and I want to be done with this all. But Angela will not stop she continues to call the different law offices in my state and they call and talk with me and then I am told that they are going to do nothing to me as I have done nothing wrong and that this is a civil matter and that she is in breech of CONTRACT. I have been in contact with the puppy buyers that Angela metions as they have all contacted me on the phone and all have their puppies and they are all happy with their babies and they are happy with the dealings with me. They want to know why they are continually being harased by Angela and why she will not leave them alone. I will give you AKC numbers of my dogs so you can go check it out on the AKC website for I know that my dogs that are on my site are registered, and MINE.
