Applied from Monster.com Recieved a call inviting me to interview on a Thursday and was told to bring my resume and refs. On the phone she asked if I had reliable transportation and if I could start immediately. Showed up to Deer Park office waiting room which quickly filled up with other applicants many of whom were like me. Graduated college and looking for a job.

Interviewed with Crystal Kershaw. Very vague about what I was going to be doing. Various positions it seemed were available. Entry level management with training provided. Or admin assitants. Or to do marketing for some Sprint phone company in public housing projects. It took a lot of digging through the internet but Dazzo is simply a new name for the company Alltrepreneur Horizons Inc. which was run by Nick Gayle.

These photos are from Gayles FB taken April 4th 2012. This is the same Deer park office of Dazzo. In short I was invited back  for the "second stage of the inteiew process". Everything seemed shady so instead of driving 40 min each way I decided to dig and dig. But you need to dig thru Facebook of these guys and thru Alltrpreneur b/c Dazzo won't bring up anything. The nypromoevent blog link below  seems very similar to what I almost went thru. Hope this helps you guys

Dazzo Marketing Solutions is the name listed in the Rip Off Report. But they They are back with a new name:  Prestige Promotions Inc.

This company uses bait and switch tactics to get people to apply for positions other than what is advertised. One title listed on a major job board is for "Event Marketing & Promotions Manager for the "Pro Racing Industry." The job listing talks about contracts "with NASCAR." In reality, this job is for a "Marketing Representative" where you will work on commission only, standing outside at a gas station selling things.

Any company that has to resort to a misleading job posting reeks of being shady. But there is more for you to ponder.

A review of the New York Corporation Database shows that Prestige was incorporated in March, 2014 (bit.ly/1nO0q9U). This lists an address of 17 Brandywine Drive, Deer Park, NY. A search for Dazzo Marketing Solutions shows the same address! (bit.ly/1ljdKhE) Dazzo was incorporated in December of 2012.

Hold on....the website for "Prestige Promotions" states "Established in early 2009, Prestige Promotions, Inc. has earned a reputation as a premier promotions provider and as such, our firm has become a strategic extension of our clients’ marketing initiatives."

     prestigepromotionsinc.com/

Wow, that was a detailed description of what they do. Actually, their entire website is page after page of vague and generic statements such as this. But when did this company begin? 2009, 2012, or 2014? And read the "glowing" testimonials from their customers. All anonymous!

Prestige Promotions is a new name for DMS Corp., aka Dazzo Marketing Solutionsthat you can read about here:

     glassdoor.com/Overview/Working-at-DMS-Corp-EI_IE660232.11,19.htm

Take a good look at their "office photos" on that page on Glassdoor. One in particular stands out. It is labeled "Montego Bay - Award Ceremony." To make it easier, here is a direct link:

     media.glassdoor.com/l/26/b6/13/52/award-ceremony.jpg

Well, what do you know? The same photo appears on the website for "Prestige Promotions!"

     http://prestigepromotionsinc.com/prestige-promotions-inc-shares-body-language-tricks-to-make-people-like-you/

But in the words of marketing genius Ron Popeil, "but wait, there's more!"

That same group photo, the one with the award winning DMS employees is also seen on the websites of at least four other "companies." And in each case, this photo is described as being as being their "team" or from an "awards ceremony:"

Vital Marketing Concepts:

     vitalmarketingconcepts.com/page/2/

Infinite Promotional Solutions:

     infinitepromotionalsolutions.com/our-team/

Gold Standard Promotions

     goldstandardpromos.com/

Elite Marketing Professionals

     elitemarketingprofessionals.com/jamaica-awards-ceremony/

What are the odds! Six different companies, all in the "promotions" business have the exact same employees, that posed for the exact same photo at the exact same event! And the websites of these four "companies" all have similar vague and generic statements as Prestige Promotions.

Is this all one giant coincidence? Possibly. But this also means you must use you due diligence when responding to job postings, and do a bit of critical thinking, especially if something does not appear "right."

It is easy for a scam company to prey on innocent people, especially those who want nothing more than to find a good job. When you see a website with vague informaiton, without the names of any of their key employees, begin to ask questions in your mind. And the quickest way to discover a scam is to search for photos! Google has the ability to search for images, and it took us just minutes to discover the misleading "award winning team" on multiple websites.

Don't fall victim to scammers. Use your head, learn about the company. And if you find a scam, post it here and share with everyone!
