US Fidelis (and it's many other names) appears to be a vaild extended warranty company. They happily offer you bumper-to-bumper coverage for around $3000.

When you try to make a claim, the car dealerships have never heard of them. They cannot reach them for hours and when they do, it's only to be told the vehicle must be disassembled and left to wait for an adjustor.

Then, when the angry customer calls, they get put on hold for hours, transferred and disconnected repeatedly. That is when you start to realize the scam and want your money back. They offer you discounts and reassurances, making you doubt the word of the dealer.

You return to the dealer to find there has been a hold placed on your account and they tell you it has to be handled by you, that they can do nothing else with this company. You call back and try to cancel...they tell you there are no refunds, you need a notarized letter and will have to pay cancellation fees.

Then you look online and see all this: rip-off reports, class-action lawsuits, fraud charges, and you can't believe how stupid you were.

And to top it all off, your vehicle is still broken after sitting at the dealership for a week.

RIP OFF!

Companies like this give the entire service contract industry a bad name. US Fidelis is out of business and unfortunately will never pay for your contract without court action...

$3000.00 is also ther norm for companies like this for service plans. Once again a travesty.

They claim to sell at upto 60% less than dealers do. that is a bold-faced lie.

My recomendation is that you buy all service contracts from the car dealer that you purchased your car from.

1. They have a vested interest in your satisfaction.

2. They are in your community, they do not want bad blood in it, therefore, they will spend the extra time to research GOOD companies to do business with.

3. They will not rake you over the coals for $3000.00 for a service plan. The good standing dealer will sell you better coverage at a lower rate than any online service you shop with.

To many people paint the dealer as the bad guy... Most dealers are pillars of the community that they do business in and with. They are philanthropic, humble, and in most cases family operated.

Companies like USF feed off of the misrepresentation of media that bouys the anecdotal BS about car dealers.

This first link is a warning about the company from your attorney general. National Auto Warranty Services/Dealer Services is the same company as US Fidelis. They just changed their name a few months ago. They have a pending lawsuit against them in Missouri by the Missouri State Attorney General. Also several other states: http://www.ct.gov/ag/cwp/view.asp?A=2341&Q=411424 This next link is one you need to use to report what happened to you! http://www.ct.gov/ag/cwp/browse.asp?a=2224 PLEASE do not hesitate to contact your attorney general. ALSO please do a search on Casey and Devoti lawfirm in St. Louis. I cannot post their link here but they are doing a class action lawsuit against US Fidelis.
