#2REBUTTAL Individual responds

Tue, February 12, 2013

For more than a year Diana Peters has continued to lie about the status of her so called rescue and to lie about Sherri and Joe Manfredi.  She contends they are liars, stole from her "rescue" and have no proof of anything they have said about her.  The reality couldn't be farther from the fairytale that she has created.  Her post contains so many lies so I will attempt to group my response by category.  Regarding her alleged ability to save dogs from shelters, setters were written by government employees in Miami and Fort Lauderdale stating Diana Peters aka Death Row Dog Rescue, is BANNED from pulling dogs from animal shelters.  Can you imagine how bad of a person you have to be for the government to ban you from pulling dogs.  Diana contends she can pull dogs because she is jealous that people have photographed Darcy and Sherri at the shelters with dogs they have rescued.  She should be happy the dogs are being saved but she is instead jealous that they can pull the dogs and gets her revenge by lying about them.  Turning to her assertion that people stole from her rescue, multiple sources began exposing that Diana was denying dogs medical care and the dogs were dying as a result of her intentional disregard for the dogs' lives.   She tried to discredit a few of those people by claiming that months earlier those people stole from her "rescue."  The people she claimed witnessed the theft didn't support her story when confronted by the police and after the police finished their investigation they decided that there was no evidence of the theft and decided not to go any further. Diana, who was once again bitter, ignored the fact that the police found no evidence of a theft and she decided to file a civil lawsuit in small claims court against the people she claimed stole from her.  In Florida all small claims cases have a trial and when it came time for Diana to put on her case she had no witnesses and no documents.  Thus, she had no evidence of the theft.  In contrast, Sherri and Joe had multiple witnesses, including a police officer that testified against Diana Peters.  Sherri and Joe also had documents.  In the end, the judge found that Sherri and Joe did not steal from Diana Peters and that none of Diana Peters' allegations against those two people were true.  The judge entered a final judgment against Diana Peters but she refuses to acknowledge what the police and judge said and continues to say they stole from her.  Once again, she is bitter they can pull dogs while she is banned and she is bitter they exposed that dogs died in her care so she is making up stories of thefts to try to discredit them.  Moving on to Diana's contention that no certified documents exist, multiple sources have provided her with the court orders that were entered against her in Fort Lauderdale and Miami, where she was fined based on her treatment of dogs and because she was illegally operating an antique business.  Diana has also been provided with the letters written by government employees stating she is banned.  It is my understanding Diana has also seen the minutes of meetings held by the town of Davie, Florida regarding her hundreds of thousands of dollars of unpaid fines that were entered against her because of  her actions involving dogs.  Diana Peters has also been presented with her own Facebook posts where she admits using money kind citizens donated on her own personal expenses.  The people thought the money was going to be spent on dogs but Diana admitted to spending it on her own expenses.  When people contacted paypal to get the money back so they could donate it to a real rescue she refused.  People have asked her for prooof that she spends every dime that is donated on dogs.  However, she is currently violating Florida law by refusing to show every single receipt, invoice and cancelled check that she has received and issued.  Florida law requires her to do that but she insteads simply says she spent a certain amount and was given another amount.

Diana Peters,

Try to stay focused when reading this.  Below are a list of questions that need to be answered by you.  Do not go on your same old tangents. Do not cut and paste the same old lies.  Do not state you saved 2000 dogs.  PLease, some of your likes may believe that, but all the locals of South Florida know you are full of dog doodee!

I was one of several hundred people that are blocked from posting on drdr fb page!  Why do you keep blocking people from stating the truth?   Answer that question

Who is your vet?   Answer the question

Where are your receipts?  Please display on drdr page

Show proof that you were robbed----Provide Police report

Explain why you were fined and sent violation after violation in the town of Davie?  Certified letters that you never answered.  Answer the question

Why do you keep saying the things you do about Sherri, Joe and Darcy?  There are so many others that also know of your scamming tactics---  Answer the question

Just because you throw videos of inspiration, motivation or spiritual talks on death row dog rescue's fb page, doesn't make it right that you are scammiing people!   We know that is one of your little evil ways to get people to donate to your bogus rescue.

Where are the recent pic of dogs that you claim you have in your rescue??? Answer this question

How may more aliases are you going to come up with?  Let's see Brittee Wells, Abby Leonard. Peggy Swanson, Fran Gibbons, Dawn Monroe  ALL YOU!!!!    Answer this question

I told you so many times that ALL dogs rescued from Miami Dade or Broward County have been examined by at least 1 certified Vet-Given tests, vaccines, spayed or neutered (if they do not have Kennel Cough) and most of the time even if they do have Kennel Cough Miami Dade does it anyway! -I have complete Vet certificates on all of the dogs pulled from Miami--I have never ever taken a dog to the Adoption events without vaccines!! Even all of the puppies that came in from the fields down in Homestead were vaccinated BEFORE going to the events--No they were not spayed or neutered (under 6 months is dangerous for them) I have records to all of these-Now my adoption contracts do state that the Puppies MUST be taken to their Vet within 10 days after the adoption from me-

Lie#1 from Darcy Butkus AND HER TRIBE OF HATERS--Polly and the Pups--I never received a dime for these dogs--I posted the picture of them (as I do dozens daily) for the pictures were sent to me for my help to cross-post and possible (BEFORE THEY ARE ALL PUT TO SLEEP) I WOULD TAKE THEM INTO MY RESCUE. (I have proof of PayPal Account)

Lie # 2 from Darcy Butkus and her tribe--No dogs or puppies have died while in my care from Lack of vet care--Yes a few (a very few) did die fast from Distemper or Parvo that they contacted at Miami Dade Animal Services--They were all scheduled to be killed at that place when I got them out--There is nothing that can be done when a puppies is first malnutrition-has Kennel cough along with  Distemper and they are given all of their vaccines and spayed or neutered by Miami
Dade pound BEFORE I get them--

Lie # 3-by Darcy Butkus and her tribe-Debbie, the small terrier I pulled from Miami Dade--I have all of the Vet records from Dr. Jaffy and his letter of admiration as to what I do to save these animals-

Lie# 4-from Darcy Butkus-I am entitled to ask for donations to help save the animals--Just ask the Dept of Agriculture-I am certified by them to receive donations for the animals care and they have done a complete audit on my rescue and all of my documents, receipts etc.-

Lie# 5- from Darcy and her group of haters--Stated that I have been documented as Animal Abuser by Miami-
Letter from Miami Dade-
FROM KATHY LABRADA--MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS FROM THE "HATERS'--

RE: Death Row Dog Rescue-Diana Peters
I apologize for the delay, between the storm and the big adoption event I have been swamped. Diana Peters has never been under investigation by Miami-Dade Animal Services for animal cruelty related issues. All dogs under the care of Ms. Peters were in good physical condition at the time of the departments multiple inspections. The sole cause for placing Ms. Peters on a do not adopt list was related to violation of a zoning ordinance which dictates the number of dogs that can be housed on a residential property. Sincerely, Kathleen R. OVER A YEAR AND A HALF-24/7 THEY POST  LIES AND SLANDER AND OPEN BOGUS SITES ON THE INTERNET-
All of these lies you keep spreading Where are the documents or PROOF on your accusations? All you have ever posted is viscous lies with No proof. Check out Broward County Animal Control reports.-I showed them all of the records of Vet care and YES some still had  Kennel Cough-and a few Ticks-but I had 45 rescues there at one time on an acre of land.
ALL OF THEM WOULD HAVE BEEN IN A BODY BAGS AND THROWN INTO THE GARBAGE!!--Why don't you get your girlfriends to just sit with me and let's do something miraculous for the dogs--Would that not be a better thing to do than to continually help to have even more animals lose their lives at the pounds??

New York Guy I just saw your post and wanted to answer a few questions that you asked.  To begin with, the post right above yours is not from a person named Lissette even though it ends by stating it is from a person with that name.  If you look below the title you will see a line that says "author diana peters."  Diana merely wanted for there to be a favorable comment about her on the internet so she pretended to be another person without realizing that she signed in as herself.  This is not the first time Diana has done that.  Anyways, you asked if Diana lives on a ranch.  She doesn't.  She live in a tiny two bedroom one bath house on a business street and doesn't have much of a yard.  Her house is around 9 feet from the road and is not even close to what society classifies as a ranch.  Where she lives only allows her to have three dogs and she admitted on the radio that those three dogs are her own pets and despite soliciting funds, she stated that she is no longer running a rescue.  Recently, Diana Peters also stated that because she is unemployed, she pays her personal expenses with the money people donate solely to help dogs.  It is sad she solicited the money to help the dogs but she admits she spent it on herself.  Turning to your questions about what Diana believes Sherri stole, when Diana liked Sherri Diana  posted on the internet that Sherri brought Sherri's own computer to Diana's house.  Now that Diana does not like Sherri, Diana is claiming that when Sherri left Diana's house she stole the computer by leaving with it.  Since the computer was Sherri's to begin with and Sherri never gave it to Diana, no theft transpired.  I hope I was able to answer all of your questions.

i read the story comment by volunteer lisette now she says something about a ranch and i just want to know what kind of ranch is it.. is it a log cabin ranch? does it have miles and miles of land and trees.. are there any hills and green grass... why is it she is asking for donations on the comment? is this a way to solicit money.. asking for stuff and monetary donations on the ripoff report page is uncuth and out of the ordinary. i also read that sherri and her husband stole so what have they stolen? nothing was mentioned of what it was... from what i read what darcy wrote sounded like she was very upset from her frightening experiance as an ex volunteer... does your volunteer lisette have a recent story to tell.... diana if you have a ranch for the dogs to live on than it seems you really dont need any donations because owning a ranch must mean you have bookoo amounts of money... just saying.

HERE IS THE TRUE STORY OF DIANA AT DEATH ROW DOG RESCUE--PLEASE WATCH VIDEO

Here is a comment from a genuine volunteer at the Ranch--Not the hateful volunteer that came to help and then got caught stealing and then she and her husband along with Darcy Butkus from Davie Florida-went on a lieing rampage to destroy the Rescue which meant to destroy so many innocent dogs and puppies with their slanderous lies---God will take care of them for these evil deeds--Diana

TO ALL CONCERNED;

I saw Diana through all this rescue process and I watched her go from an elegant lady who sold antiques to a true hero, alone in a 2 acre ranch in the Redlands with almost 40 dogs by herself. Her daughter came ocassionally to help and she got a few volunteers that would go once in a great while to give her a hand, but otherwise she took care of all of them alone.
Many days I went to visit and to help in anyway I could. Other nights we cried together over the death of a puppy that came sick with Parvo or Distemper from Miami Animal Services, helped her bandage her bitten hands from trying to break up a dog fight and saw how she got attacked and badmouthed by many who don't even know her and had never been to the Rescue Ranch.

She was persecuted by animal control who fined her for having more than "8 dogs" and the landlord who finally evicted
her for the same reason. Now she is in Davie, Fl. still saving dogs and caring for them.

She needs help, if someone wants to see her work, please watch this video:  http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10150269649728435  Please read her story below and if you care to donate something to help please call her. 954-626-0708 or email her at [email protected].

It can be food and supplies for the dogs. Blankets, dog dishes, towels, etc or help her with a donation for her dog
rescue ranch.

MIAMI HERALD FEATURE STORY-2010

http://www.saveadeathrowdog.org/

Beethoven and Tuxedo were scheduled to be put down. But the precocious cocker spaniel and his sidekick, a black mutt, were wagging their tails and running around in the yard of their new home. They -- and 800 more dogs -- got a second lease on life through the nonprofit group ``Save a Death Row Dog,'' a rescue group that adopts dogs scheduled to be put to sleep.

``How could I pick just one?'' said Diana Peters, who started the group last March after visiting the Miami-Dade Animal Services shelter. ``You go in there and they all have this look of sorrow on their face. I walked out sobbing, feeling like
there was more I could do.'' But in addition to accumulating furry friends, over the past year Peters has also accumulated
$1,430 in code enforcement citations, been forced to move and has cut back on her own expenses to pay for the dogs' needs. Even now, the future of her rescue mission remains in limbo because of a new code enforcement complaint.

``This past year has been one big learning curve of insanity,'' Peters said. ``I didn't realize how hard it would be to help.''

GOOD INTENTIONS

Save a Death

Row Dog may have the right intentions, but like many rescue groups operating in South Florida it has to navigate through county- and municipal-enforced requirements that often limit the number of animals that can be kept on a
property.

In both Miami-Dade and Broward counties, the number of animals allowed depends on the size of the property, maxing out at eight.

``The laws need to change,'' said Robbie Coy, who founded the Sabbath Memorial Rescue Shelter in South Dade three years ago.

``I understand those limits were put in place because every now and then you'll hear stories about a woman living in a trailer with 40 animals, in absolute squalor,'' Coy said. ``That's fine if that's what they're trying to prevent. But, there also has to be some sort of discretion for groups like us that are trying to do things the right way, and want to help as many of these animals as we can.''

Coy has five weeks and counting to find a new home for his operation, after his landlord was cited for not having a kennel license last April. For the shelter to remain open, the landlord needed to apply for a zoning variance through the county -- a long and costly process he could not afford to undertake.

``Unfortunately, because our groups can't afford expensive lobbyists, it's going to be hard for things to change,'' said Coy, who may end up moving to Okeechobee County to preserve his rescue mission.

MORE FRUSTRATIONS

Another frustration for rescue groups comes with the requirements in place at the Broward and Miami-Dade Humane Societies and the Miami-Dade County-run Animal Services. In order to pull animals, rescue groups are required to have licenses, which they get by registering as a non-profit with the state and agreeing to provide monthly reports regarding vaccinations and neutering.

Without her own license, Peters was pulling dogs from the Miami-Dade Animal Services shelter four times a week under the umbrella of other groups that had rescue licenses. But when those groups had their licenses revoked for not providing spaying and neutering records, she had to stop. She has since applied for her own license.

Miami-Dade

Animal Services Director Sara Pizano said the department welcomes working with rescue groups, but must be strict with its requirements such as mandating all pets be spayed and neutered.

``The fact that we work with 57 rescue groups shows it's obvious we want to work with as many groups as possible,'' Pizano said. ``Where we are concerned is the spay and neuter follow up. We have that responsibility to the animals.''

Peters used to run Save a Death Row Dog from a house in the Redland. But with more than 20 dogs at any time in her care, she began getting visits from code compliance.

``You can give me 200 tickets, I'm not letting these dogs die,'' Peters recalls telling one of the Miami-Dade code compliance officers serving her with a citation. Last February she rented a home in animal-friendly Davie, which allows people an unlimited number of pets, so long as they are there for personal, not business reasons, said Braulio Rosa, a spokesman for the town.

But almost immediately, she was ordered to appear before Davie's special magistrate to answer to a code compliance complaint. While the town does not limit the number of pets a person can have, its zoning laws do restrict where businesses with animals can operate. And, although ``Save a Death Row Dog'' is a nonprofit, the animals at the property are not considered pets.``While we can agree what [the rescue group] is doing is admirable, according to the letter of the law that area is not zoned for animal use,'' explained Rosa.

`RESCUE RANCH'

At her Davie home, which she calls the ``Rescue Ranch,'' Peters has converted most of the four bedrooms and living room into a sanctuary for the animals. Soothing new-age music plays on the radio to mellow the dogs, and her pantries and refrigerator are stocked with cans and bags of doggie chow.

``She's always putting the dogs' needs ahead of her own needs,'' said Darlene Boitel-Johnson, a volunteer who helps Peters snap pictures of the dogs, which are then uploaded to the rescue mission's Facebook page. On a recent cool night, Peters was sleeping on her patio floor with a floral comforter and a pair of dogs at her side to keep her warm.
She bypassed a good night's rest in her own bed so that Drake and Teddy, a ridgeback and a cocker spaniel recently adopted from the Miami-Dade shelter, would feel at ease in their new digs.

A DIFFERENT LIFE

It's a different way of life for the former antiques dealer, who used to get weekly manicures. Now those hands
have grit around the nails from giving dogs baths, shoveling dry food into bowls, or loading canines into her blue Ford Explorer for trips to the vet.

``I don't know what's happened to you, Mom,'' her daughter, Sonia, told her. ``You used to wear elegant clothes and have your nails nicely manicured. . .now you're like  Joan of Bark, defying the world.''

Because she is not officially licensed at any of the county shelters, Peters relies on other certified rescue groups to provide her with dogs they no longer have room for. They also call on Peters to recruit foster families, so the canines can have a home until a full-time owner is found.

``How can I not try to help?'' Peters said. ``That's another of God's creatures that will die if I turn away.''

This story and many others were written over the past 3 years about the Death Row Dog RescueReporters and camera crew going thru the entire property. They were always amazed to see the entire pack of dogs running free, jumping with joy and so happy. No one was in cages like most rescue groups that pull a Christie Hayes I don't understand why people say this is not a 501c in Diana's name.  It certainly appears to be an active non-profit on the Florida Secretary of State website.  Her name is clearly on there.Florida Non Profit Corporation DEATH ROW DOG RESCUE, INC.
