Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

On 11/20/2013 we placed an order with the owner of Decor 8, Brad Ginsberg. He set up the appointment quickly and was ver attentive to our needs and he even gave us good decorating advice on what blinds and drapes would fit estetically with our home. Then the nightmare began....

We put a deposit down and I had a conversation with him that I was hoping for them to be in by December 15 for a family party we were having in our home. He said, "I can't guarantee you that, but we will push for it. I will definitly have them by Christmas." That was 4 weeks and I was going by his word. We put down a 50% deposit and was waiting to hear from him when our order came in.

I started calling him the week of December 9 so I could gage if it we would have them for our party. After 4 calls, I finally got a call back stating they would not be in. Following week I called 3 times asking for an update and he finally called me back and set up a delivery date of December 28th. We came home early from our Christmas vacation expecting for everything to be installed on the date that Mr. Ginsberg set up. That day came and the installer only came with the patio drapes! 1 out of the 4 windows. The installer stated that our order was lost and was blaming it on another installer that went in for back surgery. (What does that have to do with anything???)

The installer that was in our home made it sound like Brad was trying to find the boxes and he would be back that day to install them. That day came and went and so did weeks.

I would call every day for 3 more weeks with no call back.

Finally on January 9th he called to tell me very abrutly that the installer would be out on Friday, January 10th to install.

So you think it ends there? Oh no, it's getting better.

As the installer was leaving, I handed him a check for the final balance. Dave the installer looked confused. I told him that I told Brad at the very beginning that we would put the deposit on our credit card and remaining balance would be paid by check. I told Dave if there was any problems to have Brad call me.

Of course no call and I got a very bad feeling so I called my credit card company. Come to find out he charged our credit card on 12/20 for the remaining balance when the order was never even fulfilled at that point and could never even get a hold of him to know what the situation was with our order so why would you get paid for a job that is not completed?

On 1/14 I spoke to my credit card company and gave them the proof that he is double dipping. He got paid by the credit card company and by a personal check. We went to the bank to get it the check stopped but it was too late.  Still as of March 1, the credit card company cannot get a hold of him.  Suprise, Suprise.

He does not deserve to be overpaid for a job that should have been discounted for all of our troubles. What he states verbally and what is on his contract are two different things. I will be taking this to the Better Business Bureau and Lisa Madigans Office. If you google this business, I am not the first one but, I hope to be the last. Brad Ginsberg does not deserve to be in business and I will do everything I can to shut him down.  I don't understand what the big deal is when your customer wants to pay by cash. You reverse the charges and you take the cash or you say, I already put it though, I will send you your check back. Any ethical person would do that. Brad Ginsberg is not only an unethical business man but a crook.
