DEFENDER SECURITY COMPANY, INSTALLER FOR ADT ADT and PROTECT YOUR HOME SUBCONTRACTOR REFUSES TO HONOR CONTRACTOR'S COPNTRACTUAL PROMISES AND ITS OWN VERBAL REPRESENTATIONS. Defender, also known as "Protect Your Home" should instead be named, "Watch out! Protect your wallet!" CHEEKTOWAGA New York
ADT PUBLISHES ITS CONTRACT ON ITS WEB-SITE and confirms buys have 6 months to cancel for any reason, and/or that the security systemt can be transferred. I confirmed the transferability before scheduling its istallers, DEFENDER SECURTY SYSTEM also known as PROTECT YOUR HOME to install the ADT system. I had no expectation that as I am juggling my normal work day and other contractors, that the very smelly installer would shove differing terms at me to sign. I confirmed again with the installer that the system could be transferred. Defenders and ADT employees with whom I spoke knew full well the residence where the system was being installed was under repair for resale and that I never intended to move in. In fact, the buyer of the residence agreed to assume or take responsibility for the transfer as confirmed by ADT. I do not believe ADT or DEFENDERS had any losses so I am very surprised to find more than a year later that DEFENDERS is now coming after me for payment and insisting on filing this FALSE and INCORRECT negative report on my credit report. I have warned them if they do so I wll pursue remedies with the full weight of the law and simply seek enforcement of the ADT promises which cannot be realized if Defenders, its only subcontractor/installer imposes its own, contradicting requirements! No wonder there are NUMEROUS complaints against this company on YELP and other sites!

Thank you, ADT, for responding. the Buyer and ADT confirmed the Buyer of the flip at issue accepted the transfer of the contract for the security system and I was advised not to worry about it. Defender Security otherwise known as Protect Your Home ("collectively referenced herinafter as "Defenders") advised me this did not occur, and that I owe three years to them. It is my understanding there are no damages, so I asked Defender to send me proof of damages. No reply yet. ADT had a great reputation. However, as they say about doctors- you are only as good as your staff. The same rings true with subcontractors. I will not contract for another ADT system unless and until they no longer do business with Defenders.
