Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I have never been so ripped off in my life.

I always try to be a polite and good person, but dealing with Dell since Jan. 2003, my life has changed.

I am no longer able to let anyone screw me over again, especially when you pay so much money for electronic equip.

My problem started when I heard Dell was so good. So, I ordered a Dell, knowing this will be the only computer I would buy for years to come. Like I said, that was my first mistake!!!!

The second mistake I made was calling for tech support, I got really screwed, since I only have one phone line in my home, means I have to use my cell phone when I call the Dell support. why I didn't use dell support on line? (because they do not give you a chance to explain things and not only that, I really get sick of talking to a robot or getting transferred.)

It goes on and on. I stuck $207.76 for repairs that the dell techs screwed up on my computer, by unenabling my virus protector, not just one time, but two times. I had to take it to three diff. computer repair places, and it still is not running right.

I have a year warranty on it, and that will be off May 1st, 2003.. {I have a feeling they will keep putting me off, until my warranty is up....}

I have tried to have someone transfer me to the dept. that will price out a yr. of warranty or a two yr. warranty. I still haven't heard from them.

But, like I said, call to buy something from them, oh they are SO polite and you get your shipment within 3 days. What a prompt and courteous company!!!! Until you need something replaced and need help.

To make a longer story shorter, I ended up using my cell at .35 cents a min. for the total of $259.75.. with that and the total of repair work that totals $467.51...

I think Dell should pay me back or at least send me a new tower, since their techs are the ones who started this mess anyway. I offered a porposal for them to send a replacement tower, a new one, not refurbished one, and for the money that I have stuck into this already they can send me a flat panel 17" screen. But, I have tried that for the last month. I am really pissed off at Dell and I hope no one else gets treated this way....

I was just curious what exactly the real problem was with this computer anyway? It sounds like it would be software related which Dell Techs like myself are not to be fixing while on a hardware replacement service call. Software related problems are to be resolved through Dell Tech Support.

I live in Austin and while I dont work for dell I do do tech support for a major company and I am somewhat confused by your post. First...what "exactly" is the problem that you have ahd with the computer? You dont mention it at all. Second...I fail to understand why you used your cell phone to call dell.....you said you ahd a phone in the house...WHY would you use your cell phone at a charge per minute when you could have simply called them on your land line??? Third......was the virus software installed by you? often anti-virus software "can" interfere with troubleshooting and can also cause problems with a persons computer.......why "exactly" did you have to take your computer to a computer store if in fact it is under warranty? ( unless it is becasue of software that you added which of course the computer manufactuer probably wouldnt support becasue it is not their product). Anyhow I would just like to be able to see the facts involved as all too often people on this site posts "rants" yet post no details thanks
