DELL IS THE WORST MANAGED COMPANY SINCE ENRON

Here's my horror story, it's all real and very true, and will beneficial to anyone who read it.

I had a problem with my sound card, so I returned it in for support. When I got it back, I had more problems than before. (like a crooked car repair shop that fixes one thing and breaks another) My computer not only started freezing up almost everday, I found my DVD drive would not read CD's, my battery only lasted about 5 minutes, and the 833MHZ computer ran slower than my 400 MHZ Gateway Desktop.

It actually took about 5 times as long to boot. A word of advice.....do not!...I repeat do not.. leave anything inside. Take out all DVD/CD drives, hard drives, batteries, cd writers, etc. The crooks at Dell computer will replace your perfectly good computer parts with worthless refurbished parts. That's all they use! If you need a system board replaced, they are going to replace it with refurbished crap that's slow and freezes up every other day. Then they will take your perfectly good parts, and use them for something else.

After I complained about the DVD drive not working, that was broken after getting it back from support, they sent me a now one and seems to be working fine.

Then I complained about the battery, and they said the battery is not covered under warranty, so I'll have to call customer service to complain. I told customer service, my battery wasn't the same after having my laptop repaired, and she told me to order one, and they will reimburse me for the cost. She said it would all be in the computer, when I called back. Told me to just call back once I got it and they'd send the reimbursement.

I agreed and bought one. Once I got the $150 battery, I called and told them I got my battery and you can send the reimbursement. The guy didn't know what I was talking about and said there was no note about the reimbursement or anything and said he wasn't able to do anything unless it was in the computer. I demanded to talk to his manager.

Told the manager what happened and he agreed to reimburse me, but I still haven't received the reimbursement, and it's been 2 weeks since I talked to him.

Then I called and complained about how my computer is now freezing up almost every day and is very slow. They told me they'd send out a box for me to send it in to be replaced. This time, thinking I was wiser now, would take the drives and battery out of the laptop before I sent it in, so they can't do another switheroo on me.

The instructions said to send the ac adapter though, so I hesitantly sent it in too. Once I got it back, just as I had feared, the Power Cord and AC Adapter was missing. So I got the pleasure of calling Dell again and waiting on hold an hour to tell them they forgot to send my power cord back. I got to talk to one of their stupid India tech gurus, who can never understand you when you tell them the service tag they ask for, and you then have to repeat yourself at least 3 times before they get it right.

They finally told me they'd send out a new power cord. After a week, I GOT HALF THE POWER CORD!! (guess the jokes on me again, they have a million of them). So I got to WAIT ON HOLD AN HOUR, TALK TO PUNJAB, WHO COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT I WAS SAYING, WHO THEN DISCONNECTED ME, SO I CALLED BACK WAITED AN HOUR, and got the other half of the power cord ordered. And who knows if they'll get it right this time.

Oh and another thing, everything you have replaced in the computer that's suppose to be under warranty, they send you a bill for, before you even get it. I guess they do that in case you don't send back the other one, but it's pretty annoying and confusing. I bet some people actually believe they have to pay the bill, so they send in a payment. That's what it looks like. I actually had to call them to clear it up. Must be the reason they do it that way, because they want to rip you off.

They shouldn't have to send you a bill until you haven't sent them the old one back. Must be the same reason they give mail-in rebates, because they know some people won't send the rebate in.

Don't buy Dell! They don't deserve to be number one. The people that work there are really about as smart as the 'DUDE I'm getting a Dell guy. He's the perfect spokesperson. And all the other commercials promoting their dumbness.' It's kind of funny, because they are targeting the young and dumb market and making a fortune, and laughing in the faces of their dumb, and naive customers. So if you want to be stupid buy Dell, otherwise you better try someone else.
