i until recently worked at the dell manufacturing plant here in round rock/austin. for one it was the the kitting dpmt's fault for putting in the wrong card, unless one of the sale's reps chose the wrong one. then the build dpmt. (where i was) should have caught the mistake if indeed it was the K.D.'s fault. but either way, Dell should have replaced your sound card. so i would keep fighting it regardless of what they say. it doesn't matter if warranty is up, it was a mistake by the company and not you.
