My mother-in-law just purchased a single ticket for her grandson for this month. Do to some unforseen problems he was not able to travel. When she called them she got the same exact run around! The stupid thing was that she purchased the ticket with her credit card which is in her name and the ticket is in a different name of her grand son. The 911 is bull and just an excuse to keep your money and that of other persons. Don't bother to call any "government" agencies since their the ones that support these actions!

There is absolutely no reason not to have the ability to change a name on a ticket. It is absolutely ridiculous to think that the reasoning behind it is security. If that's a security measure, we need to rethink security practices. I guarantee that Osama Bin Laden has the ability to create false identification as anyone that fits this sort of profile........

My experience with airlines is always the same. They treat the cutsomer poorly and could not care less. In my opinion the entire industry is flawed and should be re-regulated. Any time safety and comfort can be compromised by profit margin it will be. Further, airlines and large companies in general are only as good as their dumbest employee and airlines, specifically Delta, hires some of the dumbest people I have ever encountered.

You stated that you wished to change a name on your plane ticket with Delta. Regardless of whether a ticket is refundable, nonrefundable, has a $100 change fee, first class, coach, etc.; you are NEVER allowed to change the name on a ticket once it is issued! This policy has nothing to do with whether a ticket has restrictions or not. Name changes are not allowed on any ticket. The reasons for this policy are even more evident after the events of Sept. 11th. This policy is not to make life more difficult, but to make air travel safer. Who's to say that you can't purchase a ticket for Osama Bin Laden himself in your name, then change it later? Bottom line: Tickets are only issued in one name. After that, you can only use the fare to apply to another flight, etc; but ALWAYS for the SAME PASSENGER.
