I have received several calls from an 'Officer Adam Smith' threatening to file a 'case' or 'summons' on me. He doesn't leave the name of company he is with other than 'Department of Law and Investigation'. The numbers he calls from either doesn't show up or is an incomplete number & if you dial the incomplete number back it will say 'no longer in service'. If you dial the number he leaves (which by the way is barely understandable because of his accent) it will say 'the person at ext 713304 is unavailable'; again no company name. I have left messages but he doesn't address these when he calls & leaves me a message, he states he hasn't heard from me. I have pressed '#' at the end of the message I leave & it gives you the basic options of relistening to your message, satisfied, delete, or re-record, or 'zero' for operator. If you press 'zero' it will say 'transferring to that ext' then it will say 'this number is no longer in service'. Yesterday, Friday Oct 8, 2010 he called & left an irate message saying a summons was filed & I would need an attorney to represent me, & I will see him in the judiciary court Wed at 11:30 am & he hoped I had a good attorney. So I started looking for this 'Department of Law and Investigation' and found a very similar sounding case with this site "Ripoff Report". I have looked for online services regarding loans but have never borrowed anything & remembered 'cashnet' who also tried to charge my cell phone through text messaging but my cellular phone provider reversed those charges because I did not sign up for anything & nor did I sign an agreement or agree to any agreement; I exited out everytime it would get to an option as such for fear of being obligated or harassed. I have these messages saved. They are have got to be breaking several laws with their threats and misrepresentations.

This is a scam, it's from Pakistan or India, and they cannot have you arrested.

Don't give them ANYTHING they're just THIEVES.
