Desert Toyota will want to do a credit report on their customer and then come back and claim their credit is not as good as they think it is. To prevent this problem from happening, go to www.experian.com and buy your report. When Desert Toyota claims your credit score is 25 - 30% less then what the Experian report claims, show them the Experian report. Desert Toyota refuses to identify the 'source' of where they get their credit reports but do admit it is not from Experian. The purpose of doing an application as they say according to the Patriot Act is to get you into a prefinanced car. It has nothing to do with thr Patriot Act. This is one of many scams that Desert Toyota uses. DON'T BECOME ANOTHER DESERT TOYOTA VICTIM.

If you plan on buying from Desert Toyota, get financing arranged before visiting the dealership. They are known for 'selling' people cars only to call them up later and say they need to come in and sign some papers. When they come in, they might not realize the papers put before them to sign are really a new contract at high interest rates. Desert Toyota also uses the scam of claiming you have a lower credit rating then you really do. They just want to sell but stick you with a higher interest rate. If you do buy from Desert Toyota, find out what the actual retail value of the car is you want to buy. Desert Toyota has a tendency of selling cars above their retail value. If you buy a car from Desert Toyota, stick with your initial sales person. If you don't, there is a good chance the inital sales person gets nothing in commissions. This is a common practice with Desert Toyota.

I have had similar experiences. My experience was far worst then what you experienced. If you google the name of the General Manager, that should give you a clue. I will never go there again. Our experience so far has been a nightmare.
