Desperate-wife.com claims it is a free internet dating site. Once you make a profile it is free, unless you want to respond to other peoples emails. I recieved several provocative emails from so called members and signed up. When I responded to the emails I learned the senders had no knowledge of sending them and where quite taken aback at my response. They thought I was just some crazy guy.

This site promises other features to its members. Like Chat, games and videos. They do not deliver these services. Chat is provided thru stream-mate and is nothing more than a subscription to a adult web cam service.

While this service is free it is not available to members without credit cards, and is only free so long as you do not enter any premium areas. The game area on the site does not work. The videos are very bad cartoons and are never updated, and may not work, they where so unappealing I didnt bother to check. The cancel your account button is broken, they appologize. No where in this site is a actual physical address except if you want to join up you can send a check to

Neo Marketing LLC

If they just process billing or are actually the company responsible I dont know.

There is an area on this site for contacting the company, and while they promise to respond to email within 24 hours, its been more than two weeks since my first letter. To more have followed, I have yet to hear from them.

Once suckered into membership with false mailings I began to send letters to women. Each letter was responded to at least three times. Never once did any respondant answer 1 question, often the letters where completely out of touch with what was said. References where made to details that when compared with the actual profiles where simply false. And copies of identical letters where recieved at another site Married Cafe, likely owned by the same people who run Desperate-wife.

Two kinds of letter series are sent.

Silly rejection series...

From them letter 1 I read your profile I want to get to know you.

Letter 2 Im doing naughty things thinking about you.

Letter 3 A silly rejection letter

Your response is irrelevant it is never read.

Second set of letters is the same until you get to the third letter. Then you are invited to chat. Of course there is no chat, you are really being invited to browse web cams. Why? Most likely they are affiliates of Stream-mate and get a check everytime someone signs up.

Lastly the chat button brings up the sign up form for stream-mate even after you have signed up, so there is no actual chat its just a scam to get people to sign up so they get paid. If this is not fraud I dont know what is.

A letter I wrote to customer service. Message: First off your site is slow sometimes to the point of timing out, yeah its not me its you. Second your email client delivers mail at a seemingly rediculous lag rate of four plus hours. Third your customer service really sucks and thus far no one has responded to one of my queries. Fourth your chat client appears to be nothing more than a link to streammates registration form. And even after I register I still cant log in from your site, I am instead prompted to enter my personal information yet again, every single time I hit the chat button. Further it would appear that I have paid to be a member here so that I can browse fake profiles that are being utilized by a team of web cam models who are only truely interested in financial gain, dont live anywhere near me, and whose sole interest in me is to lure me into signing up for stream mate and checking out thier web cams. Now I have to say its bad enough being targeted in that way by other so called members, but what really sucks is I am paying for the priveledge of of being lied to by these people. I dont think this is quite t he same service you advertised. I am extremely unhappy with your site, its policies and practices and would really appreciate some kind of explanation, so please stop ignoring me. Thier response to all of the above Our site is coordinated to attract genuine like-minded individuals. We take every precaution to limit and control spam, however, if you would like to report abuse, please do so. Simply contact Customer Care with any usernames you believe are abusing the system, and those accounts will be flagged for review. Thank You! A message to readers. Say what you will about my moral charactor, and how this scam serves me right. However, I will remind you I have done nothing illegal, nor does correspondance with married people constitute an affair. These dating companies are extracting large sums of money from millions of americans. This business is huge and incidents like this make me wonder how many of these sites actually provide the subscriber with any real services. Not just sexually orientated sites either. Despite what you may think of my own behavior, I thus far have not committed any wrong doing, I simply made one stupid choice. To pay Desperate-wife.com for thier services. I would argue that they on the other hand may be getting very very rich off people with equally poor judgement. My guess is they operate at least 2 other sites in the exact same manner. Further I have investigated other sites and thier tactics to decieve users. I wonder if readers will continue to critisize me rather than come to terms with the fact that this billion dollar industry is likely the only one screwing on many of these sites. Or, cough. finding thier own true love, depending on the site orientation.

You got scammed while trying to involve youself in another man's marriage. GOOD!! Learn your lesson. This time, it did not involve guns, nor did you get taken to a hospital over it. You may not fare so well next time.
