Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I recently opened an account with Direct General for a prepaid Debit Visa. The terms and conditions clearly stated that if the person had direct deposit all transaction(s) would not be charged the $1.00 transaction fees.

WELL, they lied! I did sign up for direct deposit and I have been charged $15 so far! I emailed them and all I got was the sorry excuse--"Due to the usage of the account we cannot refund any transaction fees" Well, it states that you can use this card ANYWHERE VISA is accepted--that is what I did! Never, Never get anything from this company for they will rip you off and laugh about it.

#2UPDATE EX-employee responds

Let's just say I am a friend of an employee of the company that provides the Visa debit card to DG. http://www.directvisioncard.com/features.html: FREE Weekly Fee: Receive a rebate on your Weekly Fee each month when you sign up for direct deposit and deposit a minimum of $500 per month or you complete 15 or more transactions a month. Otherwise, a Weekly Fee will be deducted from your card account each week. (You can't just have one direct deposit go into your account and then not ever have it go in again...) These weekly fees are rebated, they are charged, then rebated. Weekly fees and transactions fees are two different animals. I'm pretty sure, and I can't say how I know (and no, I'm not the one the customer spoke to about this...) that the program details were explained to her concerning direct deposit. Let's just say my friend could probably lose his or her job if anyone at his or her company found this posting! So I am taking a great risk to explain that when a consumer doesn't understand the terms of a product, it's not always the company's fault and they're not always being ripped off. This consumer most likely didn't understand the exact terms of this product and when they weren't what she expected, and didn't get the results she wanted so she came here to vent.
