Direct TV advertizes promotion pricing for all of its packages. They have to run a credit check for you to "qualify" for that pricing. Once they do you still will not get that pricing. I called about the $35 Choice package and after credit check passed I was told my price would be $50! Some BS about rates my vary blah blah blah.
They also want you to agree to a 2 year contact (or agreement) but will only give you pricing for the 1st year so they can charge whatever they want to in year 2. Classic bait and switch.
These companies are making at least $30 per customer per month and they still have to try to "scam you" and raise your rates. They are not satisfied with the typical capitalistic venture which is to offer a fair product at a fair price - - - without gimmicks.
Consumers - please stand firm until these providers can offer us packages for no more than $40 per month (including taxes and fees). Make sure they include all the major channels like ESPN HD and even get them to throw in NFL Sunday ticket for both years. Make them give you the exact pricing for the full two years of the agreement!
