Direcway aka hughsnet is completely dishonest. Being in an area where getting a good enough line to even get a modem to work is impossible I fell for the line, "satellite high speed Internet service."

This is a farce.

They use a FAP, "fair access policy program" to limit data speed after a very small amount of data. The customer service reps are in India and communicating with them is at best very difficult.

After a couple months of lousy service I contacted Customer Service and after a long and difficult conversation I was issued an RMA to return the equipment for a refund of the purchase price of approximately $600.00. The shipping boxes arrived in about two weeks with instructions and a FEDEX shipping form with their FEDEX account number pre-filled in. I very carefully packed the equipment in what I consider to be a very good packaging system.

About three months later I started trying to contact someone who could update me on what has happened to my refund. Short version of a very long and sordid run around tail chasing call this number game:

After hours and hours of telephone time over a year of attempting to get my money, I finally was advised that I must get my money from the vendor I purchased from.

Hughsnet returned the equipment.

The shipping containers were not damaged in any way but the equipment was just thrown in the boxes to bounce around like peas in a boxcar. This was not the equipment I returned and certainly was not packaged according to their instructions nor in the manner which I packed it.

I packed it just as the instructions required and good as the packaging is I see no way it could have gotten loose.

I then contacted the company I thought I purchased it from and was told a couple days later that I must contact another company. I'll add to this report when I can find who it was.

Needless to say I have the equipment, "useless to me" in unknown condition due to the poor packaging by hughsnet.

I believe there should be a class action suit here as I can't find anyone who has anything good to say about these people. I even had to get rid of DirecTV part of this company due to fraudulent billing and even more BS.

Anyone filing suit here wants more ammo for the suit, post it here. I will pay part of the cost to sue these people.
