We have purchased a digital keyboard (music instrument) from Discount Jungle because they offered the most competitive price for a "brand new" item.

They shipped the item the next day and we received it very quickly.

The item came in a box that appeared to be "re-taped" (it was visibly opened before), the instructions manual was a photocopy of the original, the software CD was missing, the keyboard had some scratches on it and was electronically defective.

We returned the item by UPS (tracking...) and asked for a "brand new" replacement.

We contacted them 2 days after the tracking info showed that they had received it (they did not try contacting us) and, at first, they told us they did not receive anything; but per our insistence, they finally acknowledged that they did.

They told us that they are out of stock regarding the keyboard and that they would ship us a brand new one when they received an expected shipment at the end of the week; otherwise they would send us a refund check.

I checked their website and saw that they did have the item in stock. I also asked a friend to contact them and pretend she was interested in purchasing the same keyboard and they emailed her back telling her they had some in stock and could ship right away!

I have read extensive negative feedback about this company, so I followed my common sense and asked them for a refund. They charged a 15% re-stocking fee but I did not want to go through the nightmare other people had with this company.

I just placed an order for a new keyboard with a company that charges a higher price but that has an unbeatable reputation.

Discount Jungle DOES mention on some of their items on their website that they are refurbished. What I am angry at them for is to have sold me a refurb when the item was advertised as "brand new".

This company is only interested in selling people things: if you have to deal with them post-purchase (like I did), good luck with that! It takes a very perseverant and patient mind.
