I am writing to advise you on Discount Moving Company and of my conversations with employee, Bob Jaskulski, whose business practices are irresponsible, unethical, and frankly illegal with regard to a property damage claim I made in the fall of 2003. I am hopeful that the Company will do the right thing. Here's my story...

Over the past 10 months I have had numerous conversations with Dennis Stanton, an employee of Discount Moving Company, concerning property damage to the gate column at my home which occurred on August 2, 2003.

On August 2, 2003, a driver (employee) for Discount Moving Company struck and damaged a gate column while moving me out of my home into another a blocks away. On or about August 7, 2003, I spoke with Mr. Stanton and he told me to have the column repaired and to submit the original invoice to him and reimbursement would be made right away.

On November 25, 2003 I submitted the original invoice in the amount of $285.55 to Discount Moving Company accompanied by a letter of explanation.

On or about November 30, 2003 I received confirmation from Mr. Stanton (Dennis) that he had received the invoice and reimbursement would be made. On or about December 22, 2003 the imbursement remained outstanding. I followed up with Denise and he assured me the check request was in process before the first of the year. On January 28, 2004 I contacted Mr. Stanton (Dennis) again who informed me he had to pull the file and would return my call. He did not return my call.

On January 30, 2004, I briefly spoke with Mr. Stanton who then transferred me to a gentleman by the name of Bob Jaskulski. Mr. Jaskulski then informed me that Discount Moving Company had no intentions of reimbursing me at any time, he thought it was a big joke.

On February 6, 2004, I followed up again with Discount Moving Company, but no more progress was made. I have filed complaints with both the Better Business Bureau and the Consumer Protection Services Dept of the Florida State Government. Both agencies have files out on this company, but Discount Moving Company refuses to cooperate with them either.

Police Report for property damage

#2Consumer Suggestion

If you haven't already, try filing a police report for property damage. It might be too late, but it would be worth a shot.
