LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING. employees that have any type of rebuttals on here must be paid alot of money to tell lies....first of all my husband works for dish and he tells them this LNB IS BAD OR THIS RECEIVER IS BAD. they stick them right back on the vans. no he isnt working for a contractor or a 3rd party. my brother works for them also. he looked into the DVR and decided against it because it required a 3 year commitment. they still took the money from his checking acct. never got the equipment, but they have the money. they push and push these techs to a breaking point. i would really like to know which of you ever work up to 96 hrs a week and 1 day a week off, a 1/2 lunch in a 16 hr day? so please dont act like you work for an upstanding company.

It is hard to be professional when a disgruntled, narrow-minded indivdual a great story over user error. Let me start by explaining "refurbished equipment". Refurbished equipment, whether it be a pc, ipod, receiver or whatever electronic device is basicly used or defective equipment that it is scrapped of all it's parts exception shell, re-installed new equipment and check and verified more times than a new model. Upon final inspections, it is deemed refurbished. It has a limited warranty only because it was once used. I have no problem buying a refurbished equipment. You sir, are stating that 3 refurbished models were sent to you and were all defective? Any IT,installer or average tech. knows the odds of that happening of you winning the lottery, then discovering that ET and Elvis live in a retirement park named ET is Elv. So assuming that you are right, all equipment is shipped to a Return equipment center where the receiver's damage is determinded by every possible factor. Echostar doesnt target a customer and accuse them of breaking a receiver without enough physical evidence to verify the claim, especially a 8 yr customer. Your whole "complaint" reads like some kind of hate propoganda from competitors.

You didn't even try to get this resolved with Dish Network, did you? Sounds like it, since it sounds like you still have that charge on your account. I find it hard to believe the accounts department couldn't have removed the equipment fee from your account. However, I'm not the one being hurt here - in fact, the only one to be hurt by your refusal to pay will be yourself. While the service department has probably already fixed that unit and sent it back out to the warehouse (or possibly another customer), that fee on your account will be sent to collections, hurting your credit rating for YEARS to come. Now tell me, what's worse, putting yourself through the trouble of returning all your equipment, finding another TV service (who will check your record and find an unpaid balance with another pay TV service), and hurting your credit? Or is it either taking that $100 hit or actually TRYING to make things right with Dish Network, your longtime TV service? Yeah, that's what I thought.
