I became a DISH TV customer in March of 2014 after being with DIRECT TV for over ten years. The experience that I had with DISH from the very beginning was horrible. It took forever to get the system connected correctly and repeated service calls from technicians to get the signal strength where it should be. The waiting on hold when there was a problem was beyond belief and when you did finally get through to someone after being on hold for over an hour (one time we didn't hang up when put on hold and it still wasn't answered after EIGHT HOURS!).

There's much more I could talk about but the final straw here was when we moved to Naples, Florida last year, I scheduled  DISH installer to hook up the equipment but discovered that we couldn't use DISH at the condo that we moved into as they didn't allow satellite TV. DISH said ok, we'll just put your account on hold and you can activate in the future rather than paying a simple $140 early termination fee. Long story short, I just get an email from Dish (my first email since August of 2015) stating that my account has been terminated and to contact them. I do immediately and discover that they want THREE HUNDRED EIGHTY DOLLARS because my account 'automatically' renewed at the end of 2015 and now there are past fees AND an early termination as they started me on a NEW ACCOUNT without my permission.

I spoke to everyone in the 'chain of command' in Mexico and they all said the same thing... it's a new account now and you have to pay for service (that I never received) PLUS a disconnect fee. Further, the people I spoke with did not speak good English and it was difficult for me to explain my situation as they really didn't get it. At the end of the day it was about ripping me off for almost FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS for service I never received.

Bottom line is this... DO NOT EVER, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, sign up for DISH TV service. DIRECT TV is light years ahead of them in terms of technology, ease of use, customer service, EVERYTHING!
