Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

In May of 2005, my husband and I took a second mortgage on our home through ditech. We have been too embarrassed to tell anyone what we did, untill now. We both had great credit scores and never late on anything, but because of medical reasons the promise of quick money sounded good.

The breakdown goes like this:borrowed - $67.500.00

interest rate 12%  / loan term for 300 months

monthly payments - 710.93

pay off in 2030 -$213.230.00

Starting in January of this year, my husbands job has cut their hours and their pay and we have been able to keep up with everything except ditech. Our last payment to them was in June so I called ditech in July to explain the circumstances. We want to pay them off in full using our 401k.

Ditech wants us to keep going to our 401k every couple of months and withdrawing money to pay them. All we needed was a letter from them for the 401k stating the full amount owed that could be foreclosed on for a hardship withdrawal. They will not do that even though I've told them we can no longer make monthly payments.

We want to pay them , we do not want to file for bankruptcy since ditech is the only problem. An attorney told us we would have to file on everything but we don't want to do that. Ditech says they could take our house. With 1 letter, they could be paid.

The only letter they keep sending is a notice that we are 3 months late and they could forclose on that amount. I've talked to them untill I'm blue in the face but they don't care. We're going to end up loosing our home and our good credit because ditech, I don't think, wants us to pay them off. They are collecting too much interest.

In just over 4 years, the loan has gone down only $2000.00. The last time I talked to someone there, they accused me of trying to get them to commit fraud because they don't have a letter like I'm asking for.

I would never tell anyone to use ditech, even someone I don't like.

Having financial difficulties paying your mortgage? When you run up against a wall of bureacracy as with Ditech Financial, LLC customer service, one needs to work on a solution asap. You can get a copy of your payoff amount directly from Ditech's website. Request a Loan Restructuring, a no or low cost loan re-finance, or find another lender. Do NOT allow any mortgage servicer like Ditch Financial to delay or make false promises. They WILL try to set you up so thay can foreclose on your home! These scoundrals know their business, and delaying action on their partwill set you up for their foreclosure. If you have no resolution with your service company within two months, find another lender that will work with you and your situation. Ditech is first and foremost a collection agency! There is no need to resign yourself to being a foreclosure victim.

I talked to ditech again yesterday(9/17), and was forced to go through the entire explanation of our situation again. I have been talking to them since the first of July and they still don't seem to understand.

This time I was told that they would put our home up for sale to get their money. My husband and I have been trying to pay them off in full for over 2 months, but rather than give us the letter we need in order to withdraw money from our 401k, I truly believe ditech wants to continue to collect the interest.

We can't make it any clearer to them that we can not make any more monthly payments and would rather pay them off. The longer they drag this on, the lower our credit score gets.

Has there ever been an investigation into this company? If not, there should be. They are involved with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, it's right on our contract. I've requested a copy of our contract that my husband and I have signed. All we have are some papers they mailed to us, no signitures.

We'll see how things go. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.
