Hello Everyone, I assume if you are reading this then you too have bee scammed by this slick-fast talking speaker salesman. Fortunatly for me, My credit card bounced and my back account was empty, so I couldnt pay them what they were asking for. Let me start however with the story. I was outside taking a 60 minute break from my job, when all the sudden a ford explorer pulls up to me and asks me if I want to buy speakers. At first I was a bit skeptical, but because I had time ot kill and nothing ot do, I entertained the idea and asked ot see what they were offering. Not let me tell you, while I too am a salesman, they sure did pull a fast one on me! These guys are fast talkers and have information, which i am sure is fake, to back up their claims! Like a mouse running towards cheese, they immediatly got out of their SUV and started thieir sales propeganda. They first pointed to the price that was listed on the box, which ran about 1999.00 for EACH speaker. They then started telling me this elaborate story on how the company that sells these speakers shipped an EXTRA pair accidently, and how they want to get their hands off it as soon as possible. I was somewhat interested, but rather sceptical because I had not heard of this brand before, but then again, i am not a very large stero buff either. I then asked how much they would be selling these "prize" quality speakers for? They had no response, but instead a counter question, asking me how much they thought these speakers were worth to me. I explained foolishly that I a novice and i wasnt too sure. I said, i was uncomfortable spending too much money as have other financial obligations, so therefore the price that I could pay would be significally lesser then the original posted retail price. Uncertain as to how much I could afford or have, I went with them to my bank to see my balance. I hopped into their truck and away went to my bank. When I got there, I went and checked my balance. It was a measily 114.14! I withdrew all of it, and asked if 114.14 was enough. They flatly denied me! As we were driving back, I realized through my credit card i could get a cash advance. We then went from back to bank trying to find out which banks allow for Cash Advancing. We finally found one, and I with drew another 100.00. Fortunatly for me, my credit limit wasnt that high or I would have taken more out. In the end I ended up giving them $214.14 to these crooks and got 2 Pairs of thir sl-400 speakers (whih are crap) and a free trip around town to get the money needed. What a story I get to tell my kids when I am older huh? AFter reading some of the other posts, I am really glad I didnt end up giving more money then the amount I had. I can't even begin to imagine the amount of pain many of the victims feel as they spent over 600+ dollars on this garabage. While I am extremly upset at what happend, I have at least came through with some learning experiences. <-- perhaps the only thing of value obtained from the 200.00+ lesson Lessons Learned 1. I should have been more HONEST! I knew they were stolen or misplaced speakers, and I still decided to buy them. 2. Buy Speakers from a Reputable DEALER. Yea you might pay more, but you get quality as well as the ability to repudiate the bill if something goes wrong! 3.Everyone cans get scamed, even a country boy like myself. 4.Don't buy anything on a whimm... Think about it, do research. I doubt i will ever do this... but i did learn this. 5.If you buy anything whether it be form a garage sale or godforbid out of a truck, always GET things in writing, AND get al the info of their Drivers Liscence. 6.Don't feel bad that you were scammed, it happens to the best of us. Just learn from this, and never do it again :-). Best wishes to those who did get scammed. everything happens for a reason, and maybe now we are smarter so next time we wont fall for even a bigger ploy! Maybe because I am a woman, maybe because I have always lived in or close to big cities, maybe because I am paranoid, but I see bigger danger than to waste $200 for junk speakers. 1. There are many real highway gangs, (not only in movies) robbing trucks, taking away even the papers from the driver. These criminals very often sell their stolen merchandises from vans, trucks - so they can disappear fast if cops come. I do not say, that Dogg Digitals are stolen, only would lo recommend, if anybody approaches you with a similar offer, please, consider the possibility, that the merchandise could be stolen. (If you live in South CA - many Dogg Digital victims reported from there - consider the possibility that the seller could be an undercover cop:-) 2. Hopping into their truck, driving to an ATM machine, bank... What wrong with this picture? You are taking out money from the ATM, with two strangers behind you, strangers who can pull out a gun, or after taking your money simply disappear in moment a with their car. Again, I do not say that Dogg Digital sellers would do this. Only recommend, please, be careful taking "witnesses" to your bank/atm mashine, etc. Take care... A Big City "Girl"
