Doheny Enterprises Incorporated-failure To Honor Solar Cover Warranty failed to honor 8 year warranty after 1 year Kenosha Wisconsin
In The Fall of 2007, I purchased a solar cover with a 8 year warranty from Doheny's Water Warehouse. the cover was not installed untin late April or Early May of 2008, it was removed for the Summer months and re-used for the Early Fall months, then stored for the Winter. Upon unwrapping it from the ropes and canvas, I found the bubbles were popping.
On May 18th,2009 I called D.E. I. (Doheny Enterprise Inc) and left a message. Im Early June I sent an e-mail to the Waterwarehouse and they replied to send samples to DEI-so I did. On June 25th, I still had not heard from DEI so I called Water Warehouse and was told by the lady that the person in charge of that was not in the office, about that time she walked in and told the salesgirl she would call me.
On July 1st I hadn't heard anything so I again called Doheny's Water Warehouse and "Stephanie" answered she told me that the cause was deterioration andit was not covered by warranty. Now I said wouldn't that be a defect in material-well not according to her -she offered to give me the phone number for DEI -now what good would that do-they haven't answered from May 18 th yet. Then she admitted that she was the one who did the inspection and told me that it hadn't been rinsed off properly before storage-now I had rinsed it and even read the direction -of which there is none tellng you to rinse it before storage -it does tell to remove it before using extreme chemicals , which I did.
And to cover it which I did -in fact for winter I even used a heavier canvas as their plastic was not heavy enough.
I never did find out if this product was even "Made In America"
They just don't want to honor -and in talking to her -that item has been discontinued
In Short don't buy as the waranty is no good and they don't return phone calls !
