Dominion Towing $125 Worth of Lies Fairfax , Virginia
Thanks to Dominion Towing, my Dad is on his way from work (leaving several hours early) to take me to pick up my car. When I first realized it was towed I thought it was an angry neighbor mistaking my car to be one illegally parked in a residential spot because of my GMU tags. GMU students are clearly banned from overflow parking off of the street into the townhouse parking lot, but I am an exception since I pay $1100 per month to live there. I do not have an assigned spot so I try and get a spot in the general parallel parking lot area before it fills up. Well, I had done just that two days ago and had not returned to my car since then because I happened to not need to drive anywhere. Today, however, I had to drive to my lab class and when I went to where I had parked, my car was gone.
I called the towing company's number that is advertised on a sign towards the front of the townhouse complex and found that my car had indeed been towed. TO MY SURPRISE it was not a mistake (which I quickly realized would not have mattered, they would have made me pay for my car even if it was mistakenly towed) and that my car was apparently parked further than 15 inches from the curb. Like I said, surprising, since I knew that it was NOT parked incorrectly because I always make sure I am inside the lines and I had lucked out the last time and was able to pull into the parallel parking spot due to the lack of cars, thanks to the Thanksgiving break, that are usually surrounding me when I have to sqeeze into a spot. I had to miss my lab and my lab quiz, and now I get to hand over all my saved up Christmas money to these jerks. My Dad says the only thing I can do is not park there anymore, which means I'll have to park ways down the road, which is never a good walk to have to take alone at night. Thanks again Dominion.
