Hello All:
I am currently in a tussle with an Edmonton-based company by name Done Right Moving who happened to have moved my property from the North of Edmonton to the South side storage facility for a $513.45 fee on the January 14, 2015. They handed me a contract which said that after a week without payment of a monthly amount of $189 plus gst, my things would be sold to pay for the storage space which I obliged.
However, fast forward came February 16 I had touched base asking to pay by credit card or to send an e-transfer to cover for the month of February, but they insisted on taking only cash which I told them isn't possible due to my busy schedule. That continued to the following month March 14 and I tried meeting this gentleman. Upon arrival at Belvedere station, I met this guy with my two month storage fee of about $400 but he told me he is not taking the money because I have met him on March 16 and that they will accept only $600 CAN in total before allowing me move my property which I obliged. In our exchanges, I told him I am due to move to a new place on April 1st, and that I would make available the full amount before moving.
On the early parts of 28 March, I went to the storage unit to finalize my payment and have my property moved to my current address only to meet an empty unit. As a result, I went to the company under which the unit was stationed called 'Instant Storage' to demand what was happening only for them to tell me that the company 'Done Right Moving' is a third party company with whom they rent out storage units to and they in turn rent it out for clients like me for a contractual fee and that there is nothing they could do to help.
As I write this piece, I have contacted the cops as on the 2nd day of April after I went I have returned home from my storage unit on the property of Instant Storage Inc. only to seat there for hours without the gentleman showing up; however, the cops left me a voicemail Friday April 4 to tell me he (the gentleman handling the case) is to go on an Easter break and that he will call me when resumes but I am yet to hear from him. I tried calling him (the frontier of Done Right Moving) on the 29, 30, 31 up until the April 3rd only for him to tell me he has no business with me. Meanwhile, in the early parts of Wednesday, March 31st, I had told him to make himself available for I am helping my fiancee move her stuff after which which we intend getting my stuff as well which came with him asking for a $1067.45 fee before returning my property instead of the $600 am supposed to pay.
He has totally blocked my number and when I tried reaching him with my fiancee's number he emphatically told me he has nothing to discuss with me. What do I do here? Do I take on the parent company "Instant Storage Inc. to lead me to this criminal gang?
