Double D Home Improvement LLC Danny Draughn Order And Install 19 Custom Windows Bellbrook Ohio
Danny Draughn, aka Double D Home Improvement, LLC, is a rip off and a con. I hired him to install 19 custom windows in a spec home in Dayton. I paid him $6800 and it took him three months to get the windows in but they were finally installed. I traveled to Dayton and inspected and paid him the $3200 balance. The next week I got a letter from a sub contractor claiming that Danny had hired him to order the windows and install them. Danny paid the sub $3800 and still owed him $3200. But he never paid him the balance and the sub contractor ended up putting a lien on my property in the amount of $3200. I've had to file a lwasuit against Double D Home Improvement, LLC. No trial yet.
The subcontractor charged Danny $7000 and Danny charged me $10,000. so in addition to the lien he is also a rip off based on price. His business is circling the drain, so buyer beware. Stay away from Double D Home Improvement, LLC!!!

We feel this report is stretched. First, he did not have an issue with the job cost that was bid up front. In fact, he jumped immediately. So I’m not exactly sure how that constitutes being a fraud or a con. I gave a bid, he accepted. He felt it was too high, he simply could have moved on. Second, while not all, most construction companies use sub contractors. When you hire Lowes or Home Depot to work on your home, it is a sub. This is a right of any American business. Yes, we admit the window installation took much longer than expected. There was a few delays from the manufacturer who custom built the windows. Then the out of state distributor had some delivery issues. Totally out of our control. Then there were several days install was scheduled and it was snowing. Again, out of our control.
The windows were finally installed to satisfaction. Regarding the sub and his final payment. Per our attorney and local records never filed a lien. He just simply was threatening too. The day he notified Matt and Matt contacted me, I told him I’d resolve it ASAP. I had hired that sub, albeit not Matt’s problem, to do another job for my company. I had paid him in full and then after found out he didn’t complete the work and had done shoddy workmanship. It cost me $4000 to correct his work. I simply told that sub, we were holding his $3200 for the $4000 he cost us. When that sub contacted Matt with his threats and Matt reached out to me, we immediately reached out to him that day to try to work out a FAIR RESOLUTION. Matt didn’t even give it 48 hours to let us resolve this fairly. My attorney had reached out to sub that day. But Matt wanted to beat his chest and threaten me and filed his small claim suit the very next day.
We are an honest company. We had an issue we were trying to resolve quickly to benefit everyone involved but this guy wants to knee jerk react. Regarding his statement saying my business is circling the drain. He knows nothing about me, my company or anything I do in day to day business. He lives 2000 miles away from us. I have a very good reputation. Mistakes happen, we’re human. We own them and try and resolve them quickly and fairly. But this guy barks and threatens and is clearly not interested in anything but trying to be a bully. I’m a Marine Corp veteran. My integrity is all I have. I sent him multiple emails and text that same day stating I was trying to resolve this immediately. Clearly he’d rather resolve it this way. In life, sometimes things happen in ways we wished didn’t. If more people would respectfully communicate and make an honest effort to resolve things instead of a swing first talk later mentality, we’d all be in a much better place.
