thank you.
If the court room knows Mr. Floyd is a predetor of women like myself,im asking why is Mr Floyd allowed to continue to prey on vulnerable clients and commit fraud under a law? He is in violation of VAWA by telling me to Shut Up! Yes he created a criminal record for me when I was in domestic violence and he knew my life was in danger. He was hoping to get me deported, so he could have the 160K equity from my property. My retirement savings. Now gone!
It is very difficult for me come forward; almost lost my life because of what he did and still struggle homelessnes and unemployment and feeling totally displaced because of his unethical legal representation and an evil greedy money hungry nature.
I greatly appreciate the support; it means more than anyone will ever know. All I want is to make sure Mr. Floyd does not victimize anyone else, and want freely to share my experience. And for sure would like to know more about his son and real estate deals? What is that all about???
Thanks again,
T.L.

These rebuttals are clearly written by Douglas T. Floyd under a variety of names. Anyone who knows him or has worked with him (as I have) recognize his turn of a phrase and cave man approach to clients - particularly women. Everyone at the courthouse is well aware of his belligerent, intimidating approach to women. No one who knows him personally would ever, ever put him in the same room with anyone that they cared about.
He has a long pattern of trying to steal property from single women who hire him. Once he has enough info on them, he and his son (a realtor who works in same office with him) tamper with the deed, have the woman arrested for tresspassing & steal/sell her property.
Don't be fooled by his rebuttles here and that is who has written most of these - Doug himself.
Steer clear of this guy and count yourself lucky if you never have contact with him in your life.

I hear your fustration. I am not an attorney, however I do know Mr. Floyd. I believe when a person hires an attorney, that attorney speaks before the Judge in behalf of the client (that be you). You as the client are not allowed to speak to the judge unless called upon by the Judge or as a witness.
I know it is fustrating at times to keep quite, but we often become emotional in court (I know I am), that is why we hire a trained professional to represent us.
I am sorry but I can see an attorney telling their client to shut up. It is not nice and a practice most attorneys avoid if they can. But what if the client is saying something he should not be saying, perhaps because it may be overheard by the wrong person? He may not have the time to explain why you should not be talking.
Keep in mind, should a client break proper court protocol with words or actions, the Judge can hold the client's attorney in contempt. This could result on a fine and/or jail time for the attorney.
Lastly I ask that you please withdraw your Ripoff comment. I support your right to speak your mind and express your opinion. It would be much more effective if it were rewritten concise and factful.

Ok, so who is your complaint against? Tom Pappas, or Doug Floyd?
Once your complaint was called into question, the pieces of your puzzle started falling apart.
Divorces don't occur in criminal courts. They are a civil matter. But, lo and behold, you were ordered to some anger management courses, so there's more to the story than you would like us to hear, isn't there?
<"I, the consumer purchased and paid $4.17/minute legal service, which to me is a product like any other product. The issue is the legal representation I got.">
Yes. I don't argue with what you paid or what you were billed. Lawyers go through a hell of a lot to be able to charge such fees. All they have to offer is their time. A legal education costs, on the average, about $250,000.00. So your $4.17/minute is, in a sense, paying off a small portion of your attorney's education.
<"I got divorced through Texas criminal Court. How I got through it? Dont know but I did! Middled of the mess I was ordered to Anger Management.">
Addressed above.
<"I took anger management course and kept an anger management diary... Douglas T Floyd had told me to SHUT UP!">
So was Doug Floyd even your attorney? I still can't figure that out.
<"There was a lot of CEO's, Managers and Engineers taking the same course! If I didn't take the course there would have been a warrant for my arrest. I had no choice. Paid hundreds of dollars for the course...">
Sure, it happens, we all throw a coffee cup at our wives every now and then. Bottom line: you went through the CRIMINAL courts, for a CRIMINAL matter, that involved DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.
If your attorney told you to shut up during the proceedings, it sounds to me like he did a good job, because you DEFINITELY needed to keep your mouth shut. I've read your ramblings. I've seen what you're about. And I have been a defense attorney by trade, and I know FOR A FACT that, had you opened your mouth, you would have sunk your own ship.
I hope those anger management classes have done you some good.
Best regards!

Has not returned my phone calls for years. He blocked me from filing a Civil Rights Law suit 10-years ago, after Dallas police intentionally beat me up.
Tom Pappas, Attorney at Law...come forward and tell the world what you have done, with Dallas police.
It is because of you Tom Pappas and your BAD legal work, that Douglas T. Floyd said that I was a prior criminal, when I approached him to help me to get a divorce. You, Tom Pappas hid Gov't evidence that would have exonerated me. Im still here and will not go away unless you also come forward, so I can clear my name. Tom Pappas, you also are a crook, thief and a lier.

I'm putting this one in the nutcase file.
Nothing you state makes ANY sense.
1) As stated above, divorces are NOT conducted in criminal courts.
2) Nobdody can assume ownership of your property without somehow receiving a deed thereto. So there was SOME reason that permitted this attorney to assume ownership of your property.
I can only assume that, since this was a divorce matter, you lost the house, or at least a portion of your interest therein, and the attorney was the receiver.
As to the rest of your claims, I think they would be better handled in a psychotherapists office than in this forum.

IF and a BIG IF this Attorney "stole" your property then what is the reason said Attorney is not in jail for stealing your property?? And spare me the poor me you have alot of nerve sitting behind your computer judging me - YOU posted the report(s) therefore you are opening yourself up to rebuttals
Once again your report makes no sense period

....ok....I like to stick with facts...
1. hired the attorney $250.00/hour, which is $4.17/min
2.Client?Attorney Contract was signed. The contract gave me 90 days to pay his fees, starting from the time the contract would no longer be valid.
3. I made the payment in full within a week or so.
4.I went on with my everyday business---until the property tax bill arrived....gee-whiz...the attorney was the owner of my home. He did all that behind my back. Why?
I believe he got angry, because I fired him. He is a crook!
5. The public record shows he claimed the ownership of my property for about 6 months. This is corruption.
6.In rounded figures the property tax bill was $3,400. I lived in the house not knowing he claimed to be the owner.
Since he claimed to be the owner---to me he MUST be responsible for the property taxes during that time. He won't... and he gets away with it!!!
I put this report here to share with another consumer..what can happend...he went to Law School......to learn how to say: " Shut Up!!!"
.......this is not right........he put in his papers i was a prior criminal so i assume he used the Texas criminal law....

Nobody is really criticizing the substance of your report. We are merely stating that it doesn't make any sense and that we need further details before we can either 1) concur with you, or 2) explain why your reasoning is faulty.
If you have valid complaints, and were done very wrong by this attorney, as you state, I can personally advise you as to the appropriate methods of recourse.
But if you are merely a disgruntled former client who thought "lawyer" was synonymous with "miracle worker," and who thinks a lawyer is like a waitress and has to be nice to his clients, and who doesn't like the ramifications of not paying his legal fees, then I'm not going to help you further defame this attorney.
I posed my hypothesis above. Mind you, it's just my theory about what happened in your case, gleaned from what you stated in your report. I could very well be way off the mark.
But we can start off easier than that if you like. Simply answer the following questions for us:
1) In what type of matter did this lawyer represent you? Possible answers could include criminal, divorce, personal injury, collections litigation, etc.
2) What was the outcome of your case?
3) Did you pay your legal fees and, if not, did you attempt to work with the law office to make payments when you could?
4) Did this attorney sue you for the amount you owed to him and receive a civil judgment against you?
5) What is the nature of the proceeding coming up this December? (i.e., what does it say at the top of the paper that is directing you to come to court).
If you can answer these for us, we'll be much closer to figuring out what your story is. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

As stated above, your report most certainly does not make any sense. So I am going to try to make sense of it. What follows is my hypothesis, I will allow you to correct my errors so that, maybe, we can make sense of your nonsense.
1) You hired this attorney to represent you in some sort of matter.
2) When your matter went to court for some reason or another, the attorney wisely advised you to keep your mouth shut. You hired an attorney to represent you because he knows what to say in a courtroom and you do not. Telling you to "shut up" was an exercise in protecting your interests.
3) Overall, you were a difficult client that had a pre-conceived, and ill-conceived notion of the law regarding your case, as well as what the outcome would inevitably be. You were argumentative with your attorney and tried to teach him faulty legal lessons, even as he spent three years in law school and god knows how many years in practice.
4) Your case didn't turn out the way you originally planned, and your attorney probably told you at the outset that this would be the case.
5) You decided you didn't have to pay your attorney because he didn't achieve the result you wanted.
6) The attorney tried to get you to pay through non-legal collection actions. You refused to pay up.
7) The attorney received a judgment against you for the money owed to him.
8) To collect on the judgment, the attorney was forced to place a lien against your home.
9) When you failed to pay property taxes and the home was in danger of foreclosure from the bank, the attorney exercised his lien rights and foreclosed on the property himself.
Voila! An arrogant belief in a misguided knowledge of the law turns into a lost home.
Am I getting close here?
Best regards!

It is easy to sit behind a desk and type up Rebuttals and make judgments about someones report...as is being done here about mine. I opened up a dialogue and yes it can be analyzed, critiziced and scrutinized.
To fill up one hole> I became homeless due to Doug Floyds and his office, bad legal work, and the work of the 'old boys network,' in Plano, Texas..went (2007)from street to my truck, from truck to motel room (s), ,month to month apartment, sought safety in other states, lived in shelter, from shelter to a trailer, from trailer...finally a few months ago (June 2009) to a permanent housing.
The terrible legal representation is still costing me today. I am back in court December 2009, because of I was wronged by this attorney.
My Civil Rights and Human Rights were Violated.
My complaint is valid and I stand up behind every word I say.Report is not perfect, but it is perfect enough for me... 'a baby step' towards my disclosure, healing and forgiveness.
Any one person who victimizes the victims' and contributes to the continuous victimization...by blaming the victim...should perhaps take a step to educate themselves about what is a crime?
If Doug Floyd was an honorable man, he would stand up and come forward himself.

While you expressed your issues with the Attorney - You never said what was the reason behind needing an attorney in the first place. Divorce, arrest etc..
Its hard to make a determination when there are so many holes in your post.
While I agree that no one should be subjected to being ripped off by anyone, without some basic background how are we to judge whether you have a legitimate claim
Also - if you feel you have been wronged by this attorney - YOU NEVER said you filed charges against him with the TX State Bar Association AND the TX Attorney General
It seems to me that if you have a valid complaint you would have indicated that you filed with these 2 organizations that have the power to ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!
