Until 02/26/2010 I was Dr. McMahon's patient.

The entire staff for the most part. Do nothing but screw up, lie, and deceive. All under the guidance of Dr. McMahon.

Dr. McMahon failed to provide prescriptions for the pain medications I have been on for years. And because of this I had to go through withdrawals.
In order for me to get him to correct this, and while going through withdrawals. I had to drive around 30 minutes to his office and wait almost 2 hours.

I arrived just before 11:00 am. They made me sit without even offering to help with a medicine sample that all Dr's have for him to take care of all the other patients he had (I only noticed four people and their 'significant other' leave while I was waiting).
And when he finally did come out and see me it was not to offer any help. He did not take me to any exam room or office. It was to argue with me. He had also told most of his staff to leave. Other than his office manager and one other person who I do not know. Probably some assistant. There was nobody else in the entire office I could see. When I left I was told he would be calling my pharmacy to get my medication refilled.
He waited until almost the last minute before calling the pharmacy. The pharmacy I use closes at 7:00 pm. McMahon did not call them until after 5:00 pm.
Because McMahon knew I would be out of medication the day before, he should have been on the phone with the pharmacy when they opened!

I had had an appointment set up for 03/01/2010 at 11:00am to discuss the problems with the medications he had me on. But instead he chose to make changes without involving me in any way. He had an assistant call to tell me of the changes he wanted to make, but I told her that because I already had an appointment over these issues, that I am not going to change without first talking with McMahon.
Reasonable by any standards, don't you think!

But apparently the assistant did not tell Dr. McMahon of our discussion. Or McMahon did not like being told no. I can't speak for what was going through his mind. I'm just guessing.
Texas law allows for recording conversations as long as one person in the conversation is aware it is being recorded. And my call with this assistant was recorded. When I played the recording McMahon, which he tried to interrupt saying that he "got the jest of it". I did not stop because there was more to the recording that he was trying to avoid hearing.
After listening to the entire recording, all he said was "So". I told him he was a moron to think he could change my medications without talking with me first. I need to know what the new medications are for. How to take them. What to expect, etc.
His response: That's when he said So, then stormed out of the room, slamming doors, and told the office manager to write a letter stating that he was no longer my doctor.
And when I tried to get a clearer answer to one of his statements. The assistant was told to lie and say he was no longer in the office. McMahon thought I could not hear him telling her to do that.

Also, in a round-about way. It is because of McMahon that I have lost the use of my left hand.
McMahon referred me to a Dr. David W. Wimberley who refused to do anything until I got a epidural steroid shot. Which I had already had done in 03/2005 and caused me to get diabetes.
I argued with McMahon for over an hour that this was going backward in my treatment. That if it did not work in 2005, why would it work now? His answer was basically, what harm could it do. This is "newer" and "better" and will help get me off the pain medications I am on.

At one time Dr. McMahon was a good and caring Dr. even though we argued over getting the injection. He took the time to explain why he thought it was the correct thing to do, and convinced me to get the injection. Because, at the time, I trusted him.
But, to me, it seems that ever since he sold his practice to The Medical Center of Southeast Texas (IASIS Healthcare) he is no longer the same person. (By the way. IASIS is buying EVERY practice in the area that they can!).

However, the "Specialist" that Dr. McMahon sent me to for a evaluation. Dr. Wimberley of the FONDREN ORTHOPEDIC GROUP, who didn't even spend 5 minutes looking at me or the prior MRI, CAT Scans & X-rays (covering from 2005 to 01/2010) his staff had me bring. All Wimberley said was that I needed to get the epidural injection and referred me to someone else. Then he was out the door, without me even being able to ask any questions.

All of McMahon's referrals seem to be "in bed' with him. Southeast Texas Neurology in Pt. Arthur McMahon is where he sent me to for testing my left hand. They refused to provide me a copy of their report. Saying that they "Do not want to step on anyone's toes". This conversation is also recorded.

I cannot type in detail everything that has happened. And I started writing this while going through withdrawals, so I am sorry if it does not make sense in some areas. But with only one hand to type I do not have the stamina to clean it up much. I have gone from being ambidextrous to (my guess) 1.3 handed and still trying to relearn how to type.

I also found out that the vindictive Dr. McMahon called my pharmacy and cancelled the refills on the most "critical" (and addictive) medications he had prescribed. With no notification.
He is so spineless. No one from his office called to let me know he was stabbing me in the back. I willing to bet he was hoping I would not find out until I was out of the medication. Hense, the reason I am telling my story here, and everywhere else I can think of.
