I tell everyone they should go to their bank and report their credit/debit cards lost or stolen every six months. Everyone who then has your card number will no longer be able to use it, because you will get a new number with your new credit/debit card. I am doing that tomorrow, because this rip off company did the same to me when I DID cancel auto renew a month ago. Your are right, they are a rip off con artist website and need to be stopped. I just filed a report on them today with the Attorney General of California, the BBB and now Ripoffreport. See my report from Peggy

I noticed a charge of $29.95 on my credit card last month for "PC Tools" and didn't recognize them so looked into it. Turns out that a YEAR AGO, same amount was billed to my CC (I didn't notice the charge) for something called "Registry Mechanic," a charge I never authorized. In fact, I have no idea what "Registry Mechanic" means! PC Tools claimstheysent me a 30-day notice that this service, or whatever it is, would be automatically renewed but I never got that email. Guess what? The email they had on file for me wasn't mine. No wonder I never got that 30-day notice -- or the "confirmation" email they supposedly sent a year ago when someone, not me, authorized the purchase of Registry Mechanic. They have agreed to reimburse me for the $29.95 annual renewal fee but said they were very sorry, there was nothing they could do about the original charge from a year ago. How the hell are they getting my credit card information is what I'd like to know. Interestingly, it was also a Bank of America CC.

well.........a little research pays off. Resolved the issue with "pctools" and got a full credit. It seems I downloaded "spyware doctor" for free about 1 year ago and they were "automatically renewing the subscription even though it was free originally". They had no idea I uninstalled the program and was using something different. They apologized and issued a credit.
