First City Funding Ripoff Fight For A Better Way When The Car Dealer Mentions "Drive" For Financing Houston Texas
I had credit problems in the past and I need a vehicle immediately. The car dealer financed me through Drive Financial AKA First City Funding. WHAT A MISTAKE.
First of, I had to pay a months car note up front on top of the $2000 I had already put down and was promised they would not deposit the check until my due date. LIE LIE LIE. Not only did they deposit the check and the money came out of my account, other checks bounced because of this.
Second, when they were processing my loan, I was called twice by two different people and asked the same questions because the first tweedle dumb lost my paper work so tweedle dumber had to pick up the slack. All this was done on my work time.
Third, you can't be late with Drive. They actually called me two to three days before to "remind" me to make my payment.
Fourth, if I didn't return a call from them, they would call all over creation for me. References and family were bothered by these people.
Fifth, I called their toll-free number from my church once and they got the number off caller id and called to remind me to make a payment. The Church Secretary who picks up the calls returned their call from her private number to let them know that they were calling a church and to not call anymore and they called her on her private number. She was so mad she thought I gave them the number.
Sixth, After all this I finally got off my butt and traded the vehicle in. Do you know Drive Financial called me for a month after I traded the vehicle in wanting to know why I hadn't made a payment. The dealership where I got my new car called them and gave them all the information and they still called me contstantly until about a few days ago. I guess they got tired of me hanging up on them.
Anyway, If you can find another way besides Drive, please take it. They use the fact that you may not get credit anywhere else and abuse you to the point of harrassment. I still have letters and call logs of all their calls and am seriously thinking about filing a lawsuit.
