Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I worked for this company for about 5 months. Saw it all. Road trips. Had breakfasts/dinners with owners and VP's. And for those 5 months I believed it all. It's amazing that, after you get out, you realize what a shell you were in. It's funny, because I read these reports from people like me & they are calling it a cult. My friends used to ask me (during the few hours I saw them occasionally), "Dude, are you in a cult." I would laugh it off, thinking in the back of my head "you dumbasses, I'll make more $$ than all you." But for those of us with heads on our shoulders and without our head in the sky, we realize that it is all a big freakin' gimmick. Scam. Lie. Whatever.

It's pretty bad when you put 14 hrs/day in at a job plus 2 driving hours/day and people look at you like you have a growth on your head when you show up 10 mins "late". Blow me. Anyone who is thinking about this job stop now. Get a real job, even if it is minimum wage. Because over due time, after all your gas money, travel expenses, meals, payouts to other employees, and whatever else your owner decides to do with your money, that's all your income will be equivalent to. Minimum wage at best.

I was one of the "top guys" in the office. And that atmosphere thing. PLEASE PEOPLE. "Hey, what worked for you today?" "Ah, I like, went up to people, and I like used the fear of loss technique". Ok dude. Face it. You were lucky that day. Everyone is tired & tries to act hyper & happy. By the end of the night you wanna kill someone. But you can't because you're exhausted. Unbelievable experience.

Oh, am I "negging out". Sorry. I hope this place gets raided or something. Many practices of the "biz" are unfair. Especially the accounting factor of it. Would the IRS please go into this company and check some d**n records. Guarantee there is a lot wrong. I'm done. Oh, and I have this weekend off. I can do whatever I want. What about you DS MAX people? Don't wear your shoes out.

does anyone think Mike actually read DJ's comments?

That is the strangest reply I have ever seen Dj appears to be a frustrated ex - distributor with some interesting viewpoints...mostly anti-dsmax For some reason Michael writes a "book" ripping apart his reply like DJ is a current owner, with nothing but overly positive views. Read his comments again Mike! He isn't the person to be venting on!

Again, the classic "pass the buck" response. You have an epidemic on your hands DJ. Lots of people hate your company. Let's face it, it is YOUR company. Despite your efforts you are nothing more than an offensive soda machine. Seriously, if the products you pushed were good enough, they'd sell themselves, right? You wouldn't have to spend two unpaid hours every day working on selling this crap to "cows", right? And you also wouldn't have to spend several hours each week convincing others to sell this crap. Let's forget about the employees for a second and focus on the customers. What kind of guarantee do you give. None? That's what I thought. Do your "distributors" hand out business cards? Do they say, "If this is a peice of s**t and falls apart, call me?" No, the don't. And why do you insult them? What company insults its clients by not only selling them cheap goods, but by calling them names? Why would I BUY coupons? Why would I buy something off the street? Why would I risk my credit for a friggin potato cook-book? The customers aren't the ones as hurt as the "employees", so lets get down to busines: Here is your quote: "I use the word employee figuratively since everyone joining a DS-Max organization is actually an Independent Distributor. That means, good luck trying to pay for your taxes in April. If you managed to save any money, and hopefully all and any receipts, for meals, tolls, salesman uniform (dress pants, ties, and dress shirts), hotel receipts, and milage on your poor vehicle, then you may be better off than the average opportunity-given individual." Funny how you don't give the same spiel to the people who are going to make you money. You never say, "You are going to put out shitloads of money to make me some." Or: "Good luck paying for taxes and your car that you use that makes me money." You are chickenhearted at best and pray on those who have nothing left but hope. You expoit that hope with unsubstaniated claims of earnings. Ever have an audit? No. I know this because I am a billionaire. "Hell no! Did it help to suck a*s, inflate the owners ego in "meetings", and sleep with them? Ahh, of course, just like in the poor "Cow's" world. No different. They told you the weak will weed itself out, so what else to expect from an egomaniac run business than by trying to succeed being like them and abusing power, or try and do it your own "fair business tatics" way and either stay until you run out of money and into debt, or quit while you still have a dollar to your name." This is one of the funniest tactics you throw out to the public. You talk s**t on systems that you have never been a part of. Yeah, all of corporate America is full of arrogant walking hard-ons right? How would you know, your cable was cancelled and you couldn't watch "The Mind of a Married Man." Funny how all of your contracts are organized by DS-Max with companies that you claim are as low-brow as you. Wake up to reality. Most of the people in the DS-MAX system don't have much money. They use the illusion of money to get laid. People who really do have money may use it to their advantage, but they are certainly smart enough to protect their assets by not laying their BS on young employees. You say, "...no different." But it is. There is a term "professionalism", and in all the acronyms and numerated lists in the DS-Max "system" the term is never mentioned once. So go ahead and justify sexual harassment, as far as your concerned, its just part of "the opportunity." "I was well liked and because of that, was given the equal opportunity to go on "easy" roadtrips and "easy" campaingns. I took home over $1000 for the week a couple times." So it isn't a matter of performance, but personal preferance? I thought it was an opportunity that was only limited by your performance? "The reason, is bounced checks from customers who bought advertising cards for $20. Those bounced checks would come out of your personal account; so be sure to include those losses on your tax forms." Exactly. Another way for your owner to claim full profits while you got stuck with a portion - if you had enough to pay an accountant who could do so. God knows you wouldn't have the time to do your taxes yourself. "You bet your a*s! I now realize even more how corupt corporate business can be, and why most good decent people find themselves making less money, and why people with lots of money are sometimes generalized as s****. No. This is a reminder of your particular experience. You know how corrupt DS-Max is now, not other honest companies. What, you are bitter that legitamite companies told you to get lost when you showed up in their offices set up to impress real clients that you hold a grudge? Seriously, wake up. "Well, I have 10 other people waiting right now for the chance at our 2 million openings left to join our business." How did you get them? Care to substantiate the "2 million openings" "DS-Max affiliates and parent companies only further demoralize the workers in this society and continue to sell the "American Dream" to those willing to open their doors" You've said a mouthfull before closing your argument. Why is it that people hold true to the unsubstantiated claim of 14,000 owners? Why have they done so for the past three years while experiencing "unprecedented growth"? Do you have some balls? Are you proud of your "independant ownership"? One last question: If you vouch for the purity of YOUR company, then why does your PARENT COMPANY send its legal goons to defend the losers representing it? Why not cut them off? I am talking about Darren Matloff and "Rhino Advertising." You know who it is, don't play dumb. #7UPDATE EX-employee responds

Tue, March 25, 2003

First of all, I hope you all heard of the latest news on DS-Max. One of the office owners in Long Island is in the middle of a potential lawsuit filed by ex-employees. I was sent the article, which was in the New York Post a couple weeks ago or so. (Sorry I forgot the owner's name, but it was Rhino Advertising or something?) It's not hard to imagine what complaints or problems those ex-employees had with that owner and office, as it seems almost every office around the US and world run into the same garbage. I was lucky enough not to have some of the problems others had. Since most office owners were men, sexual harrasment was commonplace and and although minor most of the time, it was "handled" by those tough "rhino" women, and of course the women affected the most cried and left, a common occurence in a business that goes through interviewers and "employees" faster than door-to-door salespeople go through "No's"! I use the word employee figuratively since everyone joining a DS-Max organization is actually an Independent Distributor. That means, good luck trying to pay for your taxes in April. If you managed to save any money, and hopefully all and any receipts, for meals, tolls, salesman uniform (dress pants, ties, and dress shirts), hotel receipts, and milage on your poor vehicle, then you may be better off than the average opportunity-given individual. Was the opportunity equal for everyone? Hell no! Did it help to suck a*s, inflate the owners ego in "meetings", and sleep with them? Ahh, of course, just like in the poor "Cow's" world. No different. They told you the weak will weed itself out, so what else to expect from an egomaniac run business than by trying to succeed being like them and abusing power, or try and do it your own "fair business tatics" way and either stay until you run out of money and into debt, or quit while you still have a dollar to your name. Did I make money at all during my 2 1/2 year stint? Yeah, no doubt, that's what kept me coming back for more, plus the naps in my car, lunch at my house, and the freedom during the day when you have no "interviews" or fellow Distributors to cart around. I was well liked and because of that, was given the equal opportunity to go on "easy" roadtrips and "easy" campaingns. I took home over $1000 for the week a couple times. However that would have to last as I had to survive the normal day to day advertising campaigns of going a couple times for $0 for the week. Another way to lose money was in the highly pushed effort for you to keep money in a personal account with that office owner, who would always try and persuade you from taking money out. The reason, is bounced checks from customers who bought advertising cards for $20. Those bounced checks would come out of your personal account; so be sure to include those losses on your tax forms. Did I learn a lot from my expierence? You bet your a*s! I now realize even more how corupt corporate business can be, and why most good decent people find themselves making less money, and why people with lots of money are sometimes generalized as s****.. "Hey, how you doin'? DS-Max just wanted to let you know about this oppotunity. I don't know if you could use it or not, but if you look at the thousands of people running around from house-to-house and business-to-business, you'll see they already are seizing this opportunity. I'm sure you could use the opportunity to make millions of dollars right?! Well, I have 10 other people waiting right now for the chance at our 2 million openings left to join our business. We might change our company name and not be here next week, so just go ahead and sign your name at the bottom there, and I'll see you tomorrow." *For the sake of the few, I excluded all illegal and highly immoral happenings from my rant here. If it happens in the world, it's happening at DS-Max.

I am truly happy for the success your son has found, every parent has the right to be proud of their child. However, it sounds as if you've attended a few atmosphere meetings yourself. I see that your son has taught you the difference between a 'cow' and a 'rhino'. In Dsmax's playground, there are no other animals in the zoo. "Opportunity comes along only once and you have to get drug through the mud a little to appreciate being clean." Oh really? Do you believe this clever little saying from atmosphere meeting #3401? Does it really come along only once? Is that logical, or are you simply parroting what you've heard? It amazes me how this tired organization continues to preach to its people that the ONLY choice outside 'the opportunity' is a cow's life. Give me a break. More accurately, the individuals gave 'the opportunity' a shot, didn't like it, so they desided to move to their own beat. Doesn't sound much like a cow to me.

Remember in life you get what you put in. and if you put in what everyone else does you only get what everyone else gets. you didnt really even give your self a chance. it took my son 8 months of hard work to become an owner and i said the same things. i hated it. he failed his first try as an owner, but now makes far more money than me and his mother and his friends put togethor. read any successfull persons story and it is persistancy that will get you where you want to be. matter of fact read and listen to zig ziglar. he says negative people throw in the towel and will never be successfull at anything. they wanted to start a negatives anonymous but too many said it wont work. they wanted to start a procrastinaters club but voted to wait on it. HA im just saying give yourself a chance, oppurtunity only comes along once and you have to get drug through the mud a little to appreciate being clean. i hope you do find something you like even if it is only 9-5 mf at minimum wage because my friend without some kind of plan wether DSMAX or not, thats all youll ever be. Moooove on and make yourself happy.
