My family wanted a nice serious formal family photo that we could each display in our homes. We also wanted some individual family photos with the beautiful Mississippi river in the background. Judi Duggan also offered to take indiviual photos if we desired; which we also did.

When we recieved our CD of photos, we had no family photos because she claims she accidently deleted them. All the pics by the river look like snow in the background. you can't even see the river or the famous East Dubuque Bridge in the background. some pics were out of focus. the pics of the grandkids had one of our grand daughters almost completely hidden in the group. If you know she is there, you can see the top of her head and her legs from the knees down.

Judi wanted to take some pics at a third location that she knew about. It ended up being some bug infested weed patch that she has some interest in. All the pics from there were of no interest to us and was a waste of our time. Sadly, some of those pics were the only ones that turned out respectable.

Judi quit returning emails and text after we started asking for a refund. we sent a registered letter, filed a BBB complaint, and won a small claim judjment against her. She has no intentions to refund our expenses.

We have the facebook messages and text to Jamie that verify our complaint. I will add to rebuttal if given the oppertunity. I am thinking that I can not add photos since you did not add any good family photos or river pics. the following response will mention Sherry's facebook messages  (SF) and Jamie's text (JT) to shorten the rebuttal and give people a chance to find the info if they want. So lets start at the top.

My 6 year old grandson post pics on his mom'm FB page and get great reviews also. That is not a good measure of quality photos. Sherry and I with 4 kids is a family pic with 6 people. add 2 in-laws makes 8. add 5 gradkids make a max or 13 in a photo. Not an Extremely large family. In her sales pich to Jamie (JT page 1; Sesion last up to 3 hours and also on page 1 you tell her "there"s no clock on the session."  We spent 4 hours you spent about 3 since you texted Jamie (JT page 4; that you just talked to Sherry and the appointment got changed to 5:O;clock) That puzzeled everyone since Sherry was with the rest of us in front of your studio wondering why you weren't showing up.) What is you normal fee? (JT page 1; "Our sesion fees are $250,) (JT page 2 "A session fee is $200")

Not sure which local printers informed you that we printed photos from the CD, because I don't remember any; plus we have our oun pic quality printer that we could have used if we had good pics. Nothing in (SF) or (JT) about sun problems by the river. In fact (JT page 7, states that if you thought the sun was a problem, you should have informed us at the time.) In your response to the Iowa BBB case #32075192 the river pics didn't turn out because of the 95 degree heat but the weather report I have here shows a high temp for September 9, 2012 as 71 degrees. The seperate location was her property that we didn't even know about and would not have agreed to go if we knew what condition it was in.

We acually got 2 CD because you claimed you gave us the wrong one the first time after Sherry and Jamie complained about the pics the day after we got the CD. (SF page 3; CD picked up September 24) (JT page 4; September 25 asking about poor pic quality) and (SF page 3 complaining about NO family pics and bad river pics.)

The 2 hours at the 3rd location was 1 hour of you talking after the pics and the only reason we requested more pics is because you were persistant about wanting to take more pics.

You quit retuning FB and text messages after you knew we were not satified. if you have some messages saying something threatening or abusive, please post and share with others. Asking for a free session, Where did you come up with that?

Your next paragraph is quite entertaining and really has no merit.

This family received everything promised, and even went so far as to post them as profile pictures and cover pictures and raved abou the quality and beauty of the images.

It was an extremely large family, and even though I only guarantee 1-1.5 hours per session, I spent over 4 hours with this particular family, and indulged their every request, without charging my normal fee of 100.00 per hour over a regular session fee.

I was informed by local printers that these images were printed from the high resolution CD that was given to this family, and the image quality was never an issue when printing. I informed the head of the family when they requested shots by the river at 2:00 in the afternoon that the sun was going to cause issues with the background, and they were fine with it. I then took the entire family to a separate location to shoot for an additional 2 hours, and over 30 different poses.

They were given a CD with more images than promised, and never complained about the quality of the images until the head of the family decided that she didn't care for the images provided that had over 20 people in the image, and due to small children, adults that had eyes closed, and various other issues, there were only a few images of the entire family, but there were images of the entire family that were posted to Facebook as profile and cover photos and all of the family members commented that they 'loved' the images.

At no point during the 2 hours at the 3rd location did anyone ever complain or ask to leave due to a 'bug infestation'. There were over 100 shots taken due to the numerous requests from these clients for different family members together, grandkids, female grandkids, male grandkids, school-type head shots, single shots, motorcycle shots, truck shots, couple shots, maternity shots, etc.

I was then told that if I didn't refund her money and give her another totally free session she would sue me and file reports online. I would consider that blackmail.

I have had countless clients that have referred many of their friends and family to our studio with no issues, yet I was told by numerous people that I shouldn't have photographed this family, as they are extremely difficult to work with, and that the head of the family will do whatever she can to receive free services. SAadly I learned this lesson too late.

Due to this particular client I have re-written my contracts and expectations, and have never had any issues such as this before or since.
