Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
In February of 2002 myself and my husband went to Dunphy Chrysler (after we kept hearing on the radio and television, that everyone was approved). They told us that would could have a 2000 Mitsubishi galant with no money down. We were thrilled, after taking the bus for about 6 months or more.

In April of 2002, Dunphy called us and told us that they were not able to get us approved and that we would need to get a co-signer or give the car back. We did not understand, since their adds stated that everyone was approved and we did go back and forth with them as far as if what they were doing was legal. Finally, deciding that by the time we obtained counsel and tried to inact our rights we would be without a car for a good period of time. We called my mother and asked if she would co-sign. She agreed. When Dunphy had my mother's info and ran her credit, they told us that instead of keeping the 2000, how about getting a 2002 (a new one), we thought about it and agreed. the 2000's brakes were messed up, we had taken it in for service 2 times in the 30 days.

Dunphy Chrysler had no new Galants, so we were taken, by Dunphy Chrysler to Dunphy Mitsubishi in PA. We picked out the car. My husband and mother signed the contract after it was prepared. All of this time we were all under the impression that we were purchasing this car.

30 days after we purchased the car, we received some mail from Mitsubishi, welcoming us into the "Diamond Advantage Plan" (sounds good doesn't it, that is if you don't know), it also mentioned that it was a balloon loan. We called, because we just knew that there was some mistake. We were basically told that there was a mistake and we made it, because that is what was signed. We immediately cleaned out the car, and took it to Dunphy Chrysler, letting them know that we didn't want it. They informed us that there was nothing they could do and that we had signed a contract. I said for a purchase, this is a lease. They then tried to explain to myself and my husband, how it was a purchase, not a lease. I then let them know that I was not stupid and had a lease before and if at the end of the loan period, if I don't own the car and I have to pay a lump sum of money, that is most certainly a lease. (The only time I had ever heard of a balloon payment/loan was with a mortgage, I had no idea that balloon car loans existed), I know now. So basically as of yesterday we still owe over $20,000 on this car and the Kelley Blue Book has the retail value of it listed as $10,265.

Aside from the fraudulent way the above deal was made, there are other problems with the car. We are on our 4 set of brake pads, our 3 set of rotors, everytime the brake pedal is depressed the steering wheel shakes, the first year we had the car the heat went out one night, we never and I do mean never received any type of servicing schedule from Dunphy/Mitsubishi (I just found out yesterday that one exist (see my next problem with this car) they recommend service at 3750 miles, 7,500 miles, 11,500 miles, 15,000 miles, 18,500 miles, 22,500 miles, 26,000 miles, 30,000 miles, and the list goes on, the window on the driver side would not go up anymore yesterday.
