I was surfing the Internet looking for products for infants because I was expecting a child. In one of the offers, I was offered a free sample. Of course, I was interested in the product, so I signed up for the free sample. In doing so, I had to fill out some personal information, including my address and phone number. Shortly after, I was contacted by phone for some additional products. I was told that by doing so, I was going to be automatically entered into receiving various offers. I declined most of the offers and later forgot what I signed up for all together. I was contacted in June regarding a trip to Flordia for $399.00. I thought, "wow, I don't remember accepting that offer".

Of course by being pregnant, I wasn't going to take the risk of losing my child, so I declined the offer stating that I was pregnant and after I had the child I'd have no time to travel for pleasure. On December 18, 2007, I was contacted once again about a trip to both Flordia and Dayton. This time, it was for $169.00 for up to 5 family members. I was told that this would include free car rental from Michigan to Flordia, hotel accomondations and free night club and bar entry along a particular strip. I informed the representative that it all sounded "to good to be true" and she agreed that it did to her as well, but that it was "the real deal". I informed her that I would need something either faxed or e-malied to me so that I could see the offer in writing. She then connected me to a manager who tried to sway me by sending me to the company's website. This was a big mistake.

I was having trouble logging onto the site, then realized that I had entered the Internet address incorrectly. While trying to figure out why I couldn't get the site, the manager suggested that I go to google and enter the address from there. Instead, I went to google to research the company. I saw a number of complaints from people stating that they had been ripped off by E-Tour Travels.

At that time, I declied the offer and asked for my name to be removed from the calling list. I was told that I was wasting her time by not reading the offers that I signed up for and that nobody is going to be 100% satisfied with anything. Then, she mentioned that she's sure that I've been dissatisfied with a product that I purchased from K-Mart or Target; however, I still shop there. From there, she went on to say that next time I sign up for something, read it first. After that, she was very hostile, nasty and made some belittling comments.

I informed her that the only reason why I was contacted was because I signed up for free samples of baby products. I went on to say that since my child was stillborn, I didn't appreciate her comments nor being talked down to. However, she went on and on. I then ended the conversation by saying bye politely and hanging up the phone. I called the number back to see if it was credible and a lady answered the phone stating my first name. She then tried to transfer me to a manager after I informed her that I had signed up for this site and that I was going to report their company.

Because I refused to give my credit card information, over the phone, to a complete stragner, I was insulted. I'm glad that I did my research first so that I knew exactly whom I was dealing. Apparently, she didn't know whom she was dealing with. I hope that people will realize that this is a total scam! I'm glad that I did. Just remember, if something sounds to good to be true, it probably is. I can't even get a round-trip ticket throgh Greyhound to Atlanta for $169. Whom did she think she was trying to fool?

In reference to that call, customer stated that "it was to go to be true" and wanted the close out vacation be sent to her first before paying for it. Agent asked managemet if that can be done and managent got on the phone to inform customer why it can't be at this time but she can see the vacation details on the web. After five minutes of trying, customer then inform management that she entered the web address wrong and saw something about ripoff reports. After taking her time to enter the web address again, she finally found the right website. Upon reviewing the information, seeing the hotels, parks, resorts, video, being inform about the 90 minute presentation that is required, (which she never heard of vacation ownership presentation before) thats why the vacation is $169.00 and asking a series of questions, customer then put management on hold then came back stating that she doesn't want the vacation. Mangagement then asked what would be keeping her from taking the vacation today? Customer stated she just doesn't want it. Mangement then stated " That's alright. We were just calling her because she regested her infomation online for this offer, showing interest in visiting the theme parks in Orlando". Customer then stated she had signed up for baby stuff. Which management stated that we do not offer things for babys, it had to be a different website because on here she clicked on theme park tickets. Customer then started yelling over the phone "How dare you insult me". " I just lost my baby so I don't want a vacation". Management then aussured the customer that we are not trying to insult her or the lost of her child, we are just telling her how we got her information and giving her the information that she requested. No one disrespected the customer, infact she then apologized for yelling at management. The customer then calmly asked to be removed from the calling list which managent agreed to do, thanked her for her time said have a nice day and hung up the phone. NOTE: A lot of times customers who do not understand the way these vacation works find it to good to be true. Again the main pupose of vacation like this, is to do a vacation presation, that's why it is so inexpencive. If you do not do the presentation then you are responsible for the total cost of the vacation and that is the bottom line.
