I purchased a carport from Dream Machines (dealer).  Eagle Carports was the manufacture and Installer.  The carport was installed at my campground to store my boat under.  When I purchased the carport I gave the dealer the dimensions I wanted.  I was not given any other information on the carports.  The only option I was given was to upgrade to heavier metal for $400.  I did pay to have the heavier metal installed, knowing we can get a decent amount of snow.

Like everyone else that I have read, these guys do not show up on time.  They finally showed up right at dark and put head lamps on.  I told them I was not comfortable with them building it in the dark, so I offered them to stay in my camper on site and get some sleep and finish in the morning.  They took me up on the offer.  The next morning they finished and left. 

A couple days later I showed up at the campground and inspected the work.  First thing I see is screws all over the ground.  I have to carefully pick them all up so I dont get a flat tire.  Second thing I notice is a few holes in the roof where they missed a truss.  I didnt get to bent about it due to being temporary storage for my boat.  These were minor issues looking back.

Fast forward 8 months... We recivied a blizzard.  I wasnt at the campground but was told the snowfall amount was around 1' to 1 1/2'.  Didnt really think about the carport during the storm.  Once the snow melted I recieved a call from a fellow camper that was checking things out.  The carport had collapsed and was completly demolished.  It also took out somone elses camper when it collapsed.  I was in disbelief.  There are 5 other carports in the campground all bought from the same dealer and Eagle Carports, with one of the others being the exact same size as mine.  All other carports are still standing.  See attached pictures.

I called the dealer and his first words were "you need to call Eagle".  So I called Eagle and the first thing they tell me is I didnt order the "snow load" unit.  I tell them I have never heard of such a thing.  Thier reply was that is between you and the dealer you bought from.  I call the dealer and he informs me that is BS and he has never heard of that.  I call Eagle back and they send me 2 brochures for Pennsylvania and one is a heavier rated unit for areas with excessive snow.  I told them that I ordered the heavier gauge metal.  They said they would get back to me.  After not hearing from them in 2 days I call back and they tell me there is nothing they can do and that I need to claim it on insurance.

At the end of the day I am out $3,000 and everyone told me there was nothing covered.  NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE!!  I would love to find a lawyer ready to sue them.
