I have had DSL service for the past year year, no problem. Home phone service with verizon.

Earthlink called claiming they could offer phone service bundled with dsl. Since my in home lines had been checked within the last three weeks figured while not have one bill to pay so I told earthlink to switch my phone service to Earthlink.

11/9/06 was to be my activation date and the switchover, according to their website and printed literature should cause no more than a 20 minute loss of service.

11/16/06 still no phone service, no internet service, and no contact from Earthlink.

I have made 5 calls to their "Cusotmer Service" Center. Each call lasting a minimum 1.2 hours (the longest 2.5 hours). Only about 3 minutes actually talking to someone, the rest of the time I was on hold. Here's the results of the phone calls...

11/09/06 - your service will be active by 10 pm

11/10/06 - your service will be active by 12 pm

11/10/06 - technician need to come by residence on 11/11/06

(technician failed to show)

11/11/06 - your service will be active by 5 pm on 11/12/06

11/13/06 - technician need to go to substation to do but

cannot get there until 11/17/06.

It is 11/17/06, if phone is not working by 5 pm I will call Verizon to switch back and cut all communications with Earthlink.

It is obvious Earthlink cannot provide service as promised. Don't fool with Earthlink Phone Service.
